I have taken UDO's super 8 Hi-potency probiotic on and off for years.
It has a bunch of different strains and 42 billion cells.....its like 20 bucks.
I have a sensitive stomach and cannot tolerate dairy at all and it has worked well for me:)
Right now I'm taking one from bioimmersion but I got it from a practitioner so I dont know if you can just order it. Its called Supernatant...dairy free too

Thats crazy!!! I tolerated it fine, but your right!
Sorry:(
If you google bioimmersion probiotic it should come up, they make a few but I don't want to make any promises becasue the bottle does not say specifically dairy free.

If I were you, I'd make my own dairy-free Kefir...
Low cost, high potency, and you are in control of the ingredients.
That said, I find I do ok with Allergen-Free Jarro-Dophilus from Jarrow. But it is not high potency...each capsule only contains 10 billion, but I take 2/day (that's the most I can handle without a sulfite reaction).

Water kefir?? Is that more effective than kombucha? Kombucha has too much sugar for me.
I'm getting ready to do fermented vegetables, but that will be another week or two. I'm not sure I'll be able to tolerate them.

1) I use Metagentics Ultra Flora Balance or Ultra Flora Plus--no wheat, gluten, soy , or dairy. I get mine from a local chiropractor, but I bet you could find them online as well.
2) Sometimes I use Custom Probiotics, but I do like to rotate brands and blends.

I hope you'll be able to tolerate the fermented vegetable, Lymetoo. I think you will. Just start off slow. I think they'll be very healing.

$29 for 60 capsules. They contain 15 different strains, which is good. 30 billion per cap. Refrig not required, but recommended. I've been taking these for 3 or 4 years--I know it's a good idea to rotate but am happy with them.
No dairy, no wheat, vegetarian.
Usually I take 2 caps in the a.m. If I feel I'm having any GI issues I take two more during the night.

You can make Kefir in water, coconut water, coconut milk, nut milk (homemade), etc. I've heard of others doing all of these...so maybe try googling dairy-free kefir and see what you can find?

re: Nat. Allergy/LOGOS--They will respond to an email inquiry. I contacted them last year because I was worried about them shipping the probiotics in hot weather. They had someone from the company get back to me with a very thorough, helpful response.
From the label on mine: List of 15 bacteria species. Other ingredients: Cellulose, rice flour, magnesium stearate.
Dairy Free - Vegetarian Formula - Hypoallergenic. Free of sugar, starch, yeast, salt, wheat, corn or milk. No preservatives, artificial colors or flavors added.
Sorry, I gave you a distributor site before that is not as complete. Not thinking clearly, duh...

Lymetoo,
I buy the metagenics from my chiropractor, but I bet if you google the company you will find somewhere on line to buy them. They are not supposed to be sold by anyone but a practioner, but I think you can find them.
You might also check into Klaire probiotics. I don't remember if they are dairy free or not.

Pure encapsulations has a pretty cheap one. I can't speak to it from the perspective of someone who's allergic or sensitive to dairy but they are labeled dairy free.
If you have a nurse or doctor order it, it's $13.40 for 60 capsules of 10 billion CFU. It doesn't need to be your LLMD, I get my mom to do it. Without a medical professional, it's $26.80.
They also have a soy- and dairy-free one, but it's more expensive. It's in acid-resistant capsules and it's 50 billion CFU. $30.10 for 60 capsules if you have a medical professional order it: http://www.pureencapsulations.com/probiotic-50b.html
I have been really happy with these probiotics. I used to do (milk) kefir but my GI symptoms got bad over time and eventually were too much to handle. I started using this company's probiotics and they have been awesome. I take different ones, both of the above as well as plain old acidophilus (which does contain dairy).

Try Sauerkraut or any of the other fermented veggies. I always have one going on some windowsill! One of the healthiest things around for centuries.

sillia.. thanks.. I would have to contact them. Sometimes a product will say "no milk" .. but it DOES contain dairy. They get sneaky these days. If it was truly dairy free, it would say so. I may call them.
This website seems to indicate Klaire probiotics are dairy free and gluten free. I have not tried them myself, although I use their sacch. boulaardi.
I know the metagenics brand is dairy free and gluten free for sure.
Did someone say "Sauerkraut?" Yummy!

I know this is gonna sound like a crazy referral... But one of my dogs is sensitive to every singe supplement. "his" nutitionist (lol) recommended schiff dairy free acidophilus. It is shelf stable and it works really well for my boy.

Lymetoo, you do not need a recipe for making Sauerkraut. Some glasses with covers, a little baby blender/chopper (I use Black & Decker EHC650 for everything/even a head of cabbage) a small spoonful of good salt and a large bowl to mix.
If you are interested, I will describe how.
By the way, not all probiotics are suitable for everyone. Klaire has many different species in it and gives some people horrible diarrhea. Our intestinal flora and needs differ greatly.
Take care.
