I really try to maintain a positive outlook on this whole Lyme thing and believe that I will get better. However, when research like this appears, and memory and other cognitive issues are my main complaints, it's really hard to keep that positivity up.
I'll be taking this article with me to my next LLMD appointment. "The latest research shows that viral and bacterial infections could have lasting legacies on cognition." AND "The researchers continued to test the memory of the participants every year for an average of eight years, but the infections were not linked to changes in memory and thinking skills as time went on. That could mean that the infections had already altered the memory and cognition of the participants."
Thank you very much for posting this amazing article from TIME. Wow- I guess that it's a good thing that I have all those elevated titers against the bad guy viruses (atop of the tick-borne diseases) after all. Sigh.
Hang in there. Things have simply got to get better!

Well, maybe a little hope here, but after Lyme and co. treatment,
I do find my mind working better- short term memory better.
I do think proper treatments can bring improvement.
