Ok who has this and what is it.. I have been having a horrible time whenever I wake up whether it be 4am or 9am with sweating right afterwards..I don't sweat while sleeping but right after I wake up.. Lately I have had a headache also....initially thinking babesia but now I am not sure and it seems to be getting worse.

Room temperature might heat up to the sweating point around that time? If your nights are still cool and you have the thermostat to kick in the heater at all, I've had this issue in springtime. Just check your thermostat to be sure.

New medications?

Liver / kidney stress &/or lack of enough support.

Have you been getting enough water? And before bed? While it may not seem likely sweating could be due to dehydration, lack of enough water could lead to kidney stress and that could trigger the body's alarm system which includes that headache and sweats.

Enough SEA salt?

Low blood sugar?

Babesia is the first thing that comes to mind. Even if it's sweating right after you wake up.

Assessment is important, even if it was done early on. Assess again. But also for other tick-borne infections (assuming you've already been diagnosed with lyme since you've been posting here for 2 years).

Looking back at your posting history, you sought a LLMD in 2013 and have a couple dozen posts but not a single one that indicates if you have seen a LLMD or done any lyme treatment.

Do you now have a LLMD? Regardless, a LLMD really needs to assess you for babesia. This is a full clinical / symptom / history evaluation. Lab tests should be done with IGENEX but the tests can miss it.

Another consideration but your name does not suggest you are female. Menopause.

Other considerations, of course, possible hormonal issues whether male or female, (which the right after you wake up part may be a clue . . .

the nervous system / brain's "thermostat" "control center" off kilter (which happens a lot with tick borne infections)

But whatever is going on is going on BEFORE the sweat actually starts

of course infection can cause hormonal / endocrine / adrenal issues, too)

other infections, new textiles (mattress, any fabrics as many are coated with all kinds of chemicals), new sleepwear &/or synthetic sleepwear / sheets.

100% cotton, with no chemical treatments (no-iron or wrinkle resistant treatments have chemicals).

Good luck. I do hope you have a LLMD. Take care.

Thanks for the info, Keebler. I had the same problem, but it went away with treatment. Now, it's back again the last few days, I'm relapsing after three months off Lyme antibiotics. I, too, suspect it's babesia, and will retreat with my LLMD's help.

CherylSue,

Yeah, Babesia can be very stubborn. Keep at it. Some have found cryptolepis to be very helpful. (to you, too, Stubman, still best to be assessed by LLMD if possible)

You would never do any babesia treatment alone, though. Always some kind of combination.

CRYPTOLEPIS sanguinolenta

Anemia often goes with babesia. This can really help with support for RBC:

any infection that causes bacteremia can cause night sweats. Its just your bodies response to the infection in the blood. Lyme and co are notorious for this, especially babesia, but also bartonella and parasitic nematodes. They all cycle periodically in and out of the bloodstream.

This for all the information.. I could check yes to quite a few.. I do have LLMD but in market for new one. Tested pos for babesia in past. On cowden about month 7 but very rocky. Problem has always been I cannot tolerate the die off from babesia..it impacts my mobility to the point where I have difficulty walking.. Previously in wheelchair but now able to bike and walk without aid so cannot let herx get out of control.. I have tried everything.. Different detox methods, starting slowly, MthFr support, gluthathione etc.. The only thing that works is not taking the herbs for a couple days..

I did test low T4 and in last couple weeks have upped nature thyroid pill to 3/4 grain but this morning sweating was going on before and after the increased T4 meds.. I also have some tingling in my foot and hand.. I get that sometimes as herx sometimes as symptom or maybe it's something else this time.. So it's a mystery...

I've been having this same issue but I don't have Babesia.

I tested positive for Bartinella, Rickettsia, and Lyme.

I'm also hypothyroid and menopausal.

I thought it was just part of the hot flashes on menopause but it is weird how it hits right after I wake up.
