YES! You- yes YOU, Silver- finally got some good news! That's so, so great! But I have to ask.....

Are you sure when they called to give you the good news, they didn't dial the wrong number?

[lol]

It's just that "good news or good luck" and you don't always tend to go together. You know what I mean. ~smile~

Ride the wave of your good news and please let me know if the symptoms continue. It's important to me.

Hello <<<<< Tinny, bluelyme, and Lymetoo >>>>>,

Tinny, you make me laugh, and I need that right now!

Bluelyme. I have a few options, unfortunately dietary restrictions, and problems with acidic stuff. Makes regular unsweetened cranberry juice, or caplets unfeasible at this time. Not even able to do apples right now.

Lymetoo, the D-mannose, is on my permanent helpful list, running low, and will be purchasing more in aprox. a week.

We are hoping after the CT scan, that there wont be anything serious going on, I have had issues with cysts, like 5 different times now.

Sadly, if it another one,or ones acting up again, they wont check them for LD and such. They'll want to make sure it isn't a malignancy.
Another concern from Dr. is if I could have a stone blocking things.

Right now it is a waiting situation, while we get TxC's last test out of the way,and then his surgery. Will keep y'all updated.

Thanks for checking in dear one. I'd hate to have to jump on my 4-wheeler and run you down just to see how you are doing.

Not only is it a long way to travel, but I heard it's a bit hot in your area.

And truth be known...

I'm too fragile. I'd surely melt. HA!

Hi <<<<< Tinny' >>>>>,

Uh the 4 wheeler might melt even a for ye did, Like TxCoord says, VW bugs and poodles self combust around here.

At least the weird hotter than usual weather hit in June, not in May.

In 2013,it was 116-to 118 degrees of heat in May, with horrible flooding, and hundreds of lightening strikes,I forget how many in an hour during the storms, but freaky.

Then the power went out in our area, that was awful. Fire crews, and EMT were checking on everyone.

Weather isn't supposed to get this hot, before late July, early August. So we're record setting and sometimes breaking around here.

My symptoms, are better but still some burning, likely the ornery IC issue. Staying on D-mannose.

Hmm Evidently degrees is now spelled 'dergees',and when the power goes off it is a 'powswer' outage. But then I had a light bulb shoot out of it's socket on the front bedroom fan, while I was changing it.

The glass bulb itself didn't break, the metal piece that screws into the socket,on the fan, came apart, and with a pop-boom,the bulb shot out of the socket. That metal base is still in there. Aargh, well lately I haven't been gud ta spailin' anywise.

Will check in later again.

Jus' Silverwolfi heard big-boom-biggg-bada-boom...!!!

Silver, Do you think it could be IC? Have you been diagnosed with it? If you think it is IC, I have some tips and can also share my experience as I had excruciating IV and vulvodynia for years. Please PM me if you want more info.

Hello <<<<< Lymetoo,and me >>>>>,

I was Dx'ed in 1982, with trigernitis [an old name for Interstitial Cystitis], I was told it actually was in fact IC, in 1997-or '98.

Also told, because my kidneys stayed so small for so long, my bladder was worn out. It is considered 'adequate' but not a normal size.

Current PCP thinks the bladder sphincter may be worn out.

As to the Oxalates, I don't have much greens except for green beans. Rarely I'll have a bit of salad, usually from lettuce. Once in awhile we have a bit of fresh spinach. I am not fond of most spinach in cans. It sets my teeth on edge.

I do have a bit of chocolate, but I try not to over indulge and it is Dark chocolate. I do eat cashews, but not much else. Occasionally a couple of Brazil Nuts.

I'll research this more, having to wait on many things, like the elimination diet, 'til after TxC's surgery. I can further refine my diet if need be.

Gonna check the oxalate list again, Once in a blue moon, I do have a Yam.but that is maybe once or twice a year.

I do know I cannot eat granny Smith tart sweet apples anymore. I don't do most regular tea, mine is usually herbal types, very mild. I love Raspberry Zinger, but I don't have it but very very rarely. It makes me need to urinate excessively.

Off to check that list again, Be back shortly... Edit in: Okay, spinach isn't a good idea, and neither are the cashews, am working on cutting chocolate way, way, way, back.

ALtho' I have tried to use caution with the chocolate,as I have worked extremely hard to lose weight, and don't want to gain it back. I've been feeling to cut back further. So off to the races so to speak.

Thanks for the info' and input, from each replier. And for the link too!

Silver, Pelvic Floor exercises were essential for me to help alleviate IC symptoms. I actually went to a pelvic therapist. Good times. I will spare most of the details, but you can send me a PM if you want more info.

Here are a few links:

http://www.pelvicfloorfirst.org.au/pages/pelvic-floor-muscle-exercises-for-women.html

http://www.ichelp.org/about-ic/associated-conditions/pelvic-floor-dysfunction/

http://www.nhs.uk/chq/pages/1063.aspx?categoryid=52

A few things to note: my pelvic therapist worked me up to 30 minutes a day.

They described sprinter and runner exercises. I forget which is which. For one, you squeeze ten seconds on, ten off. For the other, you squeeze two on, four off.

You want to do this both standing and sitting.

I thought pelvic floor exercises were a bunch of baloney bc I had done them--but not in the right way or for the needed amount of time.

It took, geez, at least 6 months for me to notice a difference. Also, if I slack off too long now, I start getting IC symptoms.

I don't do it 30 mins a day anymore, but I still do it regularly ( for the most part).

Hi <<<<< me,and Lymetoo >>>>>,

Me, thanks for the info' Links, will check them out, I may PM later if the computer doesn't act up.

Hi Lymetoo, We have been on modified low carb since May of 2014, so no,nope no potatoes. It is really rare for me to have potato,or potato products. I mean very rare.

Our low carb, is mostly meat, beef, pork, chicken, occasionally turkey, and sometimes the freshest fish we can afford.

TxC' has made it a point to get to know the butchers,at our local stores. So we get freshest meat possible,on our income.

As stated,I eat mostly green beans for veggies, corn ,carrots and such are to high in sugars. When I get down some more lbs.,I can start to add just a couple things, not on normal diet. I have to watch weight carefully, and blood sugars too.

I do miss some of the foods,I am allowed a small amount of GF bread products, but i don't miss the Metformin and similar type of drugs that were damaging my liver, and likely the kidneys too.

The dietary life style has allowed me to keep the Diabetes under control. May 2014, I weighed 214 lbs. the most ever, and now I am under 170Lbs and working toward getting under 160 lbs long term.

Don't think I'll go under 150-155 lbs. at this point. This about getting as healthy as I can,w/in the limited options I have due to health concerns, and the chronic illnesses. So I try to be very careful.

Dads passing, and the ensuing mess, has made it more difficult to stay on track but I am determined. I do greatly appreciate, the info' links,as it helps me check on foods that will help and foods that may be causing issues.

Everything is complicated right now, with dad's passing, and TxC's upcoming surgery. So we are trying to figure out when to work in various tests, and Drs. that have been recommended to us.

Gotta get TxCoord, back to being able to walk better, and are praying he has no malignancy in the bone, above the knee. He spends part of his time in the wheelchair, which is not fun.

So we'll be keeping y'all updated, as we find out what is happening when.

I do think the IC is acting up,and making things uncomfortable, but at least it is better w/ the D-mannose.

Once TxC's surgery is out of the way, I am going to do an elimination dietary challenge again. I adjust some of the supplements, now and again, and it will help I'm sure.

The stresses get the IBS acting up, and the IC follows suit. Computer is acting up right now,so I am going to stop and see if this will post. [PC gets ornery rolls, loses posts etc.]

Silverwolf,

My friend with IC is much better after getting allergy tested and getting allergy shots. She is not dealing with other health issues, though.

Hang in there. Praying ice cubes come your way--LOL

Hello <<<<< hiker' >>>>>,

Thanks for the comment, I know for a fact I have some allergies/intolerance to foods, and certain medications [especially many ABX].

And I actively avoid what I am able to avoid, dust is a problem. We moved from high mountain desert, to just plain old desert, and large city.

We have high winds in Vegas, not good for dust allergies. But when it's calm,it is somewhat better for breathing.

Glad your friend with IC is better! You laughed about ice cubes, you should here the weather-casters here!

' Yes,we'll have a slight cooling trend coming up, it will be under 110*,and a bit breezy. It'll be 106, Tuesday, with 101* on Thursday and heavy rains. Winds will pick up,watch for flying debris, and don't cross the roads if there's a wave of water coming.

They are serious about flooding, when the water hits it can carry most vehicles right off the road, into gullies, arroyos etc.

My Wolfish-ness wanted to take over,I can't spell any more arroos, aroyoos, awoooohooo.
scratch scratch, muzzle wiggle... Arroyos, ahhh there we go.

What's a Wolfi girl ta do. I find wolves fascinating, tho' preferably not in my backyard.I was priveleged to own a husky-wolf/chow blend for several years, and she was a sweety, all 80lbs.of herself. But they do the unexpected, and you have to be firm but gently cautious.

Her name was Sihayah, and she protected me from a stalker,we lost her in 2012, she had become allergic to pretty much everything.I miss her, but I can't handle large dogs anymore. She seemed to be having a lot of kidney problems and skin problems.

Our Vet was knowledgeable about LD,but didn't think it was that, his partner had to stop work because of LD.

Back to subject at hand, update sort of, I have some testing scheduled next week, and toward the end of the month appt. with a Urologist,to see if we can find out what this all is,hopefully w/a minimum of pain/ and/or invasive-ness.
