I heard good results with the bovine glandular. Much better than chemical supplementation.
I used the homeopathic T3 long ago. Now I'm only on the violet ray stimulation (tested by my ex-lmye doc).

- Glandulars always make me very sick to my stomach and "wired" me to the moon. NatureThroid (as per doctor's prescriptive dose) and Iodoral 12.5 mg day work very well for me.
Glandulars can work well for many, though if you include in your treatment plan, be sure your doctor can equate the proper dose but always start VERY low & slow -- and WITH FOOD -- never past noon due to the stimulating nature.
Another concern I have about some - some, not all - gladulars is the source: stockyard / industrial animals? If so, I would pass for so very many reasons. Trace the source, and their food sources and confinement environments. If the animal is under stress, their gland organs pose problems.
Note: Most pharmaceutical thyroid Rx contain gluten. NatureThroid does not, it is gluten-free. Be sure all Rx, OTC and supplements are, too.

Thank you for your replies! You both bring up excellent points.
My thyroid levels are all "normal" except the thyroid antibodies, which is high.
I do not do well on any pills that are bovine based.
I see 2 different Dr's who have very different opinions on how to deal with the high antibody situation.
I am gluten, dairy and corn free as well.

Armour pigs (just regular pigs that the mass food markets use from the industrial farms that are best avoided . . . I also do not know about the additives in Armour's thyroid, or if it is gluten-free).
While those are, technically, glandulars, when I wrote about how glandulars make me nauseated and wired, I was talking about the other kinds used as support and those are usually more bovine based.
I do well with the dose of porcine NatureThroid. As for what kind of treatment, though, your LLMD -- if you have one -- should weigh in on what the antibody tests mean in your case. Lyme changes so much about all that since lyme can "flip" immune stuff in so many ways and unless a doctor knows about lyme, they can't really advise well in this matter. -

- MEDICAL MUSHROOMS might be a consideration to modulate / balance the immune system. Just don't take anything that boosts - boosting is never a good idea for those with lyme [though some use that term in varying ways, just never push it] . . . support / modulation is the goal.
Not all mushrooms are equal in their properties. Paul Stamets is the mushroom expert - yet one's LLMD or LL ND should also help guide in the goal or what part of immune system needs what kind of attention.

I do well on Armour thyroid, and Naturethroid makes me ill - we're all different when it comes to which thyroid med we can tolerate.

I currently take Synthroid plus compounded t3.
I tried Armour at one point with my old doc and didn't feel well on it. But I don't think he understood all the nuances.

You literally have to try a form of it out to see how you do. And test a very small amount. I have sometimes spaced out my thyroid supplementation.
