I am starting this new thread on the Petition to Congress on the Lyme Disease Bills in order to attract more people to sign.

www.petitiononline.com/lyme

Since I put out a challenge on General,10 days ago, the petition has gained 1139 names!

I love Cave's site, bringing my challenge here and keeping up, in large red letters!, the current numbers. I will continue to post there too.

1420 signers this morning!

Of those 117 are Ohioans!!

Over 100 people per day have signed this petition!
148 signed just yesterday!!

It is so easy. Go to:

www.petitiononline.com/lyme

Sign on, write a comment, have your say. These bills could make a huge difference.

This petition is a wonderful document of how many we are, and how poorly we are treated.

Go for it!

I think the duplicate names occur when somebody hits the back button after they have signed. I've noticed a few of them along the way and have been deleting them periodically.

There does seem to be a problem with the website this afternoon. I checked some of the other petitions and you can't sign them right now either. Hopefully, this will be temporary - we were having such a good day with lots of signatures. [Frown]

We even have Alaska and Hawaii represented now!!

How do you view the signatures? When I click view signatures all I see is the number of signatures.

Once you click on View Current Signatures, you will see the total number.

At the bottom of that page there is a list of numbers most in red(a few are blue) each representing a page of signatures.

If you click on the largest number, you will get the most recent signers - or the lowest, the earliest signers.

Hope that helps.

1785! Do you believe this??!!!! I am amazed.
140 Ohioans now have signed.

2130 petition signers at 10:30 and 155 are Ohioans!!!

Yesterday there were 1972 at this time of day.
We are having more than 150 people signing every day now. How great is that????

Please tell everyone you know to do this one thing for you.

Say, "please go to

www.petitiononline.com/lyme

fill out the form (where you can add your comments, too!) and help convince the US Congress to pass the Lyme bills."

Thousands and thousands of people are suffering not just from Lyme and other tick-borne diseases, but from neglect by their medical community and their government.

Yep, the petition now has 2251 signers!

166 are Ohioans! Funny, I haven't heard how many are from CA. I am just amazed every day to see that people have signed from so many states!

This is not like one of those chain letters people forward to you. It is an established site that will clarify all your questions. Lynne, the writer of the petition, is a fellow Lyme patient.

Just go to

www.petitiononline.com/lyme

At the bottom of the pages you can find all the info about the petition and a way to contact Lynne.

Oh, and while you are there - Sign!

Just passed 2300 signatures on the petition and Ohio passed 170!

We have to keep this going! Ask friends and relatives and anyone you can to go to

www.petitiononline.com/lyme

Read this great petition and sign on. I can't think of another way we could get so many people from all over the country to speak up!

YIPPEE!!!! The number of petition signers just passed 2500!!

Ohioans numbers are 178!

Please, please sign the petition. It will go to every Representative and Senator in the country.
Lynne will let us know when it is ready.

You can keep track of the number of people who sign in your state and send a letter to your Rep or Sen. along with the petition statement and the number of people in your state who signed it.

This will re-inforce the request to pass the bills to get education and research on Lyme and other tick-borne diseases, testing and treatment.

For now, Please go to:
www.petitiononline.com/lyme

Read and sign the petition and add your comment. Then get everyone you know to sign it, too.

2600 signatures! Wow!
One more and Ohio will have 180!

That is 100 since 10:30 this morning!

People are circulating warnings about signing petitions.

Go to the petition site. You will find good info on privacy and the name address and e-mail of the person in charge of the petition.

It is secure. Not like a "chain letter" that gets forwarded around.

Please go to:
www.petitiononline.com/lyme

Read and sign the petition and add your comment. Then get everyone you know to sign it, too.

The number of signers just passed 3000!!!

YIPPEE !!

Back to my original challenge...
[quote]
How about people going to the petition and counting up the number of people from your state who have signed on. Just the total number, no names or such.

www.petitiononline.com/lyme

Let's see which state can boast the most signers.
[end quote]

I still plan to encourage my own congress people to help pass the bills and I would like to send them a copy of the petition statement and the website where they can see it.

I would like to include the number of people who signed the petition and the number of Ohioans. i would not include any names or comments.

I will not do this or encourage others to if Lynne does not agree.

I hope people will continue to sign the petition. Numbers are our strength.

Amen.

There are 4130 signers listed for the petition,

However, one of those numbers accounts for 7 people!

Since 5 of those people are Ohioans, I am counting them all under the 223 Ohioans who have signed on.

We can make it to 5000!

Please go to

www.petitiononline.com/lyme

and sign, please...

I know, I know the number of signers says 4149, but with 7 people being signed on at number 4126, I think it is fair to add 6 to 4149 for a total of.... tada....4155!

We need people to read and realize that this brilliant petition statement should move Congress to get these bills out of committee and up for a vote before Congress adjourns for this session.

So send the website on to all your friends and relatives, people at church, etc. etc. and tell them it is very important. Once they read it they will see and sign.

Tell them"

4162 + my six Ohioans that were squeezed onto one number and we have 4168 signers to the petition!

With a little urging of friends and such, we should be able to get to 4200 before the night is over!

Ohio has 224 signers!

Don't let Cave's ominous messages scare you off.

The most important thing about this petition is that we show Congress that a huge number of people from every state in the Union are behind it,

and that people who did sign had a lot to say about the urgent need for passage of these bills.

So if you haven't yet signed, please do and then tell your friends and relatives and co-workers and anyone else you can think of....

www.petitiononline.com/lyme

and sign,... please..."

Betty, It must be noted that when you said people hadn't signed on recently, you were posting after 2:00 a.m.! I don't expect a lot of people to sign on late night or early morning - especially before a work day.

Your ideas sound good! Be careful to be far enough away from the election site if you do take the petition there.

Ohio now has 227 signers to the petition. Applause! Applause!

The total number of signers is at 4183 when you count the six that were squeezed onto one number.

Well on the way to 4200! Hope everyone will try to get others to sign on, too.

It is an honor to participate in this endeavor, so do your part

Please go to

And see all the names and states and read the heartrending comments

and sign, please...

Make that
4206
by adding those people who were all squished together under one number!

Please tell people about this. It is so easy to stand up and have your say by signing this petition.

Go to

www.petitiononline.com/lyme

and sign, be sure your state is on the form,
write a comment and it is done!

Please.
