I think the duplicate names occur when somebody hits the back button after they have signed. I've noticed a few of them along the way and have been deleting them periodically.
There does seem to be a problem with the website this afternoon. I checked some of the other petitions and you can't sign them right now either. Hopefully, this will be temporary - we were having such a good day with lots of signatures.
We even have Alaska and Hawaii represented now!!

How do you view the signatures? When I click view signatures all I see is the number of signatures.

Once you click on View Current Signatures, you will see the total number.
At the bottom of that page there is a list of numbers most in red(a few are blue) each representing a page of signatures.
If you click on the largest number, you will get the most recent signers - or the lowest, the earliest signers.
Hope that helps.
1785! Do you believe this??!!!! I am amazed. 140 Ohioans now have signed.
fill out the form (where you can add your comments, too!) and help convince the US Congress to pass the Lyme bills."
Thousands and thousands of people are suffering not just from Lyme and other tick-borne diseases, but from neglect by their medical community and their government.

Yep, the petition now has 2251 signers!
166 are Ohioans! Funny, I haven't heard how many are from CA. I am just amazed every day to see that people have signed from so many states!
This is not like one of those chain letters people forward to you. It is an established site that will clarify all your questions. Lynne, the writer of the petition, is a fellow Lyme patient.

YIPPEE!!!! The number of petition signers just passed 2500!!
Ohioans numbers are 178!
Please, please sign the petition. It will go to every Representative and Senator in the country. Lynne will let us know when it is ready.
You can keep track of the number of people who sign in your state and send a letter to your Rep or Sen. along with the petition statement and the number of people in your state who signed it.
This will re-inforce the request to pass the bills to get education and research on Lyme and other tick-borne diseases, testing and treatment.

YIPPEE !!
Back to my original challenge... [quote] How about people going to the petition and counting up the number of people from your state who have signed on. Just the total number, no names or such.
Let's see which state can boast the most signers. [end quote]
I still plan to encourage my own congress people to help pass the bills and I would like to send them a copy of the petition statement and the website where they can see it.
I would like to include the number of people who signed the petition and the number of Ohioans. i would not include any names or comments.
I will not do this or encourage others to if Lynne does not agree.
I hope people will continue to sign the petition. Numbers are our strength.
250 more than the last time I visited late Friday night! Great increae of NC, & other states really getting involved.
Cave & Ann, in the last 50 names, one poster wants help and left her email address to send answers too! Can either of you help her? Bettyg thanks!

I know, I know the number of signers says 4149, but with 7 people being signed on at number 4126, I think it is fair to add 6 to 4149 for a total of.... tada....4155!
We need people to read and realize that this brilliant petition statement should move Congress to get these bills out of committee and up for a vote before Congress adjourns for this session.
So send the website on to all your friends and relatives, people at church, etc. etc. and tell them it is very important. Once they read it they will see and sign.

Betty, It must be noted that when you said people hadn't signed on recently, you were posting after 2:00 a.m.! I don't expect a lot of people to sign on late night or early morning - especially before a work day.
Your ideas sound good! Be careful to be far enough away from the election site if you do take the petition there.
Ohio now has 227 signers to the petition. Applause! Applause!
The total number of signers is at 4183 when you count the six that were squeezed onto one number.
Well on the way to 4200! Hope everyone will try to get others to sign on, too.
It is an honor to participate in this endeavor, so do your part
