My doctor called with the news. My MRI and SPECT scans were negative.

I guess its good news. Does that mean i will probably not have to go on IV ABX?

I get to see her next Friday and she will have all my blood work then.

How do you determine if you need IV or Oral ABX? She mentioned that if i had lesions that i would need IV ABX the first time i saw her.

My LLMD told me IV was always a last resort and that oral abx was always tried first. But that's just one LLMD's opinion. I'm not sure what the common verdict on that one is. I've never heard the relation between an MRI and IV before, but I could be wrong (and most likely am).

But, I have lesions in the central area of my brain and started orals 3 months ago along with treatment for Bart, and have made significant progress. For me so far, orals have worked. Personally, if IV was suggested first, I would have begged for the orals before trying the IV. But that's just my opinion.

So, hopefully, orals will do the trick. It is amazing how my joint pain and chest pain are gone (pretty much) after only 3 weeks of doxy.

I hope the pain STAYS gone. From everything i have read, it probably will be back at some point.
