In the article on Samento recently posted (for some reason I could not send a reply to that message), it says that they use a product called Silphex! to clear neurotoxins.
I had to stop the Samento because I got to a point where I didn't even know my name (although in retrospect I should have backed down the dosage instead of stopping).
Does anyone know where to obtain this "Silphex!" stuff and has anyone ever used it?
I did a google search but came up with nothing other than the article posted here on Lymenet.

Can't help you on the Silphex.... Just wanted to chime in that I too herxed off it on my third day.
I take the capsules, and had to open them up and start at 1/4 each day for a week, then build up by 1/4. It took some time, but it has made a huge difference in my pain levels.
Hope someone finds Silphex, because I'm interested too...

I am still pursuing trying to find this stuff. Tried at the health food store yesterday.
I googled the name of the guy in the article & he & his wife have written a book about LD. I really don't want to spend $40 on a book just to find this product.
I started back on the Samento today. I'm already half brain dead. I herx on this stuff immediately (starting about 30 minutes after I take it) and stay in a constant herx (mostly neuro/migraine headache type stuff)the entire time I'm on it.
I would really love to find this product as it sounds like it might help this some.

How many drops of Samento are you taking ? I was told to start with only ONE drop in 1/2 c water on an empty stomach and work my way up, adding 1 -2 drops each week.................

I believe Silphex is Silphium Laciniatum. It is on the Dr.s website. I did a search and he owns a naturaceutical company. Check it out under one of the Links at the top under Lyme Amonia. Keep reading. It is in there... Ed

I started with 1 drop in 4 oz of water once per day because that's all that I could handle. I think I stayed on this dosage for at least a week because I herxed so badly I couldn't move up the dosage.
I eventually worked up to 10 drops 2x/day but my neuro symptoms were so bad at that point I had to take a break. After taking the Samento for 4 weeks, I took a break for a week.
Today I am starting again and I took 2 drops this AM. I always leave at least 30 minutes to an hour on either side of taking it with no food or drink. I already have a sinus headache/confusion/memory issues pretty bad.
Be very respectful of the Samento. It is very powerful stuff. Of course, I suppose your reaction will also depend on the length of your illness/bug load.
lymeinboston, I guess I didn't look quite hard enough at the website. I will go back and look again. Thanks very, very much for this info.

I've had some luck with NAC and phosphatidylcholine (both at high doses) for clearing up neuro herxes.
When I started on saventaro, I had the same experience. Just 30mg made me sleep for two days and have Carlos Casteneda-type nightmares. But after a couple of weeks, the herxing calmed down and now saventaro is one of the best supplements I have.

Hi All,
Following the protocol, which is somehwere on this and other sites, is extremely important. It starts with one drop, and the dose is incremented so much at a time, on given days, and according to symptoms, and so on. I would not play "herbal chicken" with this stuff, and instead really read-up on it.
I have a bottle of Samento, but have yet to start it.
