Do any other tick bites present with a bull's eye rash or just Lyme ticks?

Hey there Lynette...

Did I spell that right? YES.. I DID!

OK...

I am not sure how you meant this question... but here is my answer.

Various types of ticks can carry the Lyme bacteria. The black legged tick (deer tick) can be one vector... and the American Dog tick.. the Lone star ticks.. and others also carry the bacteria. It can also be found in mosquitoers, mites (like chiggars) and other animals and insects.

Sooooo.. Yes.. you can have a tick bite.. and a Lyme rash... and it doesn't HAVE to be from a deer tick.

The tick itself doesn't cause the Bull's eye rash... the Lyme bacteria does.

You can have tick bites from ticks NOT infected with the Lyme bacteria.. so you wouldn't get the Bull's eye rash in that case.

Another interesting note...

Often folks who have atypical rashes or inflamed Bull's eye rashes have been found to have co-infections along with the Lyme bacteria.

Hope that answers your question.

I hope you have a lovely day.

Thanks yes it helps.

I am anticipating a conversation with a local Dr. to say that there are no Lyme ticks here, then the rash can't be a lyme tick. I wanted to know the answer before I had the conversation.

Thanks again
