I'd like to get the opinion of people on this board. I have had every symptom on the list for MS. I tested positive for Lyme, herx like crazy on abx day 4 and 4 weeks.

Even my Llmd says maybe you have both. My gut tells me no (that and the bull'seye) I think lyme and MS are the same thing with perhaps different triggers?

Any thoughts? thanks

I think Ms is either lyme or something related to mycoplasm's.

I don't believe that all MS is really Lyme. But, I do think that there are a lot of people misdiagnosed with MS who really have Lyme and it sounds like you're one of them.

Morning crazy-

There is growing belief that anywhere from some to all MS has bacterial involvement. Lyme and MS are both diseases of the central nervous system. I think some of the articles at the Canada Lyme site address MS and bacteria.

After abx treatment for lyme you can re-evaluate the MS issue. Please be very cautious about using steriods with lyme, they can make the disease worse. They are often used with MS.

Trust your gut.

Mel, good point. My LLMD said that patients with Lyme get worse on steroids, while patients with MS may improve from roids.

I can see Drs. thinking pts get better on steroids cause it knocks out the immune system
and stops the herx.?? scary!

thanks for the replies. I have never taken a steroid and even if the ms were confirmed somehow, I don't think I would but never say never right?
