I've been on treatment just under 2 years now.

I have recovered almost completely. My symptoms are all very mild. Occasional nerve rumbling, twitching, and cramping. These happen a few times a day. My plan was to stay on abx until these go away for a couple of months.

I still have significant floaters however.

In February, I added minocycline to my Ketek. I have since replaced Ketek with Biaxin. Basically, because the mino has such good penetration properties, my LLMD thought it would be a good "clean up" type of abx.

Nine days after starting the mino. I started to have a vision problem. I have a very small (maybe one inch or so when looking at a computer screen) circular field of vision that is sharp and clear. Immediately around it and outwards, everything looks blurry, dark and smudgy. My pupils don't seem to dialate correctly and one is often larger than the other.

Everything generally looks darker and less brilliant, almost like its always cloudy out although it could be the brightest of days.

This problem is most pronounced in the morning and on somedays goes away during the day. It comes back sometimes at night. If I look at a distant object, the size of my circular clear vision increases.

I've seen my opthamologist and now an optic neurologist. Everything that they can see looks just fine, which is the good news, but this type of vision problem is beginning to drive me nuts. The Dr.s think that is could be because of lyme disease but I'd like to get other opinions.

I'm currently undergoing different tests peripheral vision and neurological function.

Has anyone every experienced this type of vision problem before? Has anyone ever experienced a herx like this?

- Mike

There are numerous reasons.
1 on list 100+ symptoms is on list.

I am warning anyone to make sure is not Uveitis.
It is very serious, they tried to tell me in ER was migrain in a migraine. RIGHT. I know very well what migraines are. Still would not listen.

Uveitis is serious & linked with Lyme. Even according to book sent they mentioned Lyme.
Which surprised me. Prob. due to active CMV, which we have with Lyme not always active though.

Other thing is when went to FM seminar with Dr. Devin, highly admired.

She said put you hand above your eys, eyebrow area.
Then look back & forth.
If it is fairly painful, (not normal), means you have trigger points inside behind eye.
This can cause problems especially depending how many & how large they are.
Not much to help that.

Uveitis needs immediate meds.Drops for eyes. [group hug] Kerry
