My son takes 2000 mg of amoxicillin a day. He also takes biaxin though.

Daystar:

I have had great success with 5,500mg daily of Amoxy, 1000mg daily of Biaxin and 400mg daily of Plaquinil. ( Amoxy will penetrate the blood brain barrier at high doses.)

My initial treatment was with the Biaxin and Plaquinil. Once Amoxy was added, things really turned around. Initial starting dose was 1500mg daily. With every 500mg that was added, more and more symptoms disappeared! Tried to make it to 6000mg, but broke out in a rash. Downsized to the 5500mg mark and have stayed there for one and one half years without a problem. It was the amoxy that got me over the hump!
