I'm interested in knowing what vitamins/supplements other parents of kids with LD give?

I know I can ask my doc - but that's not his 'area' and he'll just go into some abstract conversation that will confuse me. (I love him -please don't bad-mouth him because of that.)

But I DO need some info. Yes, that's right - THIS "doc" don't know squat about what I should be giving to my precious 11 yr old! NEED HELP!

PLEASE HELP DR. WISEASS!

I know you are not doctors and you are not prescribing any particular vitamins/supplements or dosages - I am just requesting info as to what YOU parents give to YOUR children.

If you'd rather, you can PM me. (Don't you love this new PM feature? Those of us who have NOT thanked the administrators for the improvements might want to consider doing so...GRATITUDE is nice. Also, please sweetly suggest a SPELL CHECKER and maybe some cussing & crying little Graemlins!)

OK, thanks.

Blessings,

Doc,

I'll have to go home and check.

I actually think I may remember! I wrote it in my planner.

You have to trick them and put it in their icecream. My suppliment guy had kittens when I told him I was using real icecream--so now we are eating RICE icecream. As soy is bad for the thyroid!

Hey Dr. W.A.

My 8 yr old son has Lyme since birth, he got it from me; however, thanks to the geniuses drs we used to frequent in WA state, he just got dx 5 months ago and started tx on April 2005.

The only supp his LLMD recomended was probiotics.
I do primadophillus bifidus by Natures Way.
Is this the best one???? Who knows! is the one I use for me and my son feels pretty "special" taking some of the billions of supp I also take.

I used to open the capsules and mixed them with low sugar yogurt -HARD TO FIND-, but he had learned to swallow pills and it sure makes life easier.
He is the baby at home and everybody was so excited when he finally learned how to swallow that we throw him a party with "fake" cake and everything else.

Take care,
Lymster in WA

Thanks Lymester.

She hasn't started abx yet - but I know she will soon enough and I WILL definitely put her on probiotics.

I just want to keep her immune system built up.

Right now other than a multi (that has too much sugar in it - must SWITCH! Dad bought those!) - I have started her on some Magnesium and B6 and told her to tell me when she gets diarrhea.

I feel realatively safe giving her that - because Marnie has convinced me that we are all low in mag. and it is a vital element for health.

I was just wondering about other supps that may be needed or HELPFUL.

I've had her start drinking some liquid logic and drinking some mangosteen juice.

It's just so important that I do the right thing for her. I MUST DO RIGHT BY HER. SHE'S TRUSTING ME TO KEEP HER HEALTHY - TO KEEP HER ON THE ROAD TO IMPROVING HEALTH.

I CAN NOT FAIL. I WILL NOT FAIL.

I just need as much info as I can get.

Thanks Lymester...and UP for me opinions, please!

I'm sorry--I forgot--really dragging with the babesia artinisinin herx.

will she drink the mango juice? What format is the magnesium? Mine you have to mix with a warm liquid (4 and 7 will not swallow pills).

I have some other stuff to rebuild their good bacteria and a big dog vitamin.
