Remember me complaining about my lungs and thoat burning a little after my first bicillin injection? Well it went away for a couple days but came back yesterday. It feels like the very beginning of bronchitis, but I feel totally fine. No other cold symptoms at all. I get a tickle in my throat and have been coughing off and on today too. Its just weird to me. i take my 3rd shot tonight. I don't know if this is related to the injections, a herx or what.

Just be sure you're not allergic to PCN. Some allergic reactions can be delayed. That would be my primary concern, esp. if you start having difficulty breathing.

No trouble breathing. Just a bad tickle in my throat and a cough. I took another shot this evening. Ill have to wait and see what happens. I guess it could just be regular allergies too. I was hoping it was that or a herx.

Is it possible that it's post nasal drip? I had it, and started using saline drops. It helped, and I haven't had any problems since.

I spoke to my LLMD. He said the irritation in the throat and such sounds like it could be related to a herx. Does that sound right? My skin is itchy today too but I also took some benadryl last night and sometimes that does weird things to my body as well. Im scared! I hate it when my body starts acting up like this!

I get that burning sensation when I am herxing, or just plain overtired. It is a response to inflammation in the lungs. Dr. S says that a number of the inflammatory cytokines can cause that, including high MMP-9 and low VEGF.
I find if I don't take that sysmptom as a signal to slow down, it can escalate into full blown bronchitis, but I don't think it is usually due to a bug, at leat in the beginning. I think my lungs are just inflammed, but if I am not careful, the inflammation provides an opening for infection.
Nothing scientific, only my observations over years of being sick, both prior to treatment and since.
