Hi Trails,

I have gone on a vegan diet because my stomach started to burn. The diet is working well, but in my 2nd month now I am beginning to have meat cravings too.

I am getting ready to remove amalgams, chelate and remove root canals and the funny thing is, Dr K says on his website that we should have plenty of protein in our system before we begin.

Confusing!

Also may be my excuse to add back to my diet.

That's interesting. I have become almost revulsed by protein.

For the last 15 years eating most of the time Atkins-styleeee, I find it so hard to eat protein now that I have had to succumb to a low-GI diet instead, which my LLMD said was OK to do.

I hope it doesn't make yeast a problem. I am eating healthy carbs, like pulses, brown rice, yams, veg and a little protein.

It is odd to crave protein though, I don't think I have ever craved it.

hey trails

I do crave protiens too but my stomach is acting up again. I know they tell cancer patients to eat alot of protien. It might be good for the immune system?

I have been using "Whey protien powder" with good results. Mine is sugar free vanilla flavor.
Tastes real good too.

Take care

I usually listen to protein cravings, but try to keep it healthy protein if possible. Your body needs fat too, so it could be both you are not getting enough of.

Other thing, is you might be craving iron or other nutrients in types of meat.

All gram negative pathogens are missing acids...they go after ours.

In the case of Bb...it's after our choline (an acidic B vitamin).

Bb follows the cholesterol and glycolysis pathways.

Cholesterol

HDL (good) = proteins (lots) + fat

LDL (lousy) = fats (lots) + protein

Lots of protein (acidic) usually results in a sugar (alkaline) craving too.

The body is trying to balance the pH.

Here's a good (and healthy way to get fat and protein) I use jarrow unflavored whey protein powder and Jarrow organic coconut oil in protein shakes. I use almond milk ice and flavorings. You can use fruit and yogurt also if you eat those things. I add stevia for sweetener.

The protein powder does not have any artificial sweetener.

You can get the jarrow whey and the jarrow organic coconut oil at vitacost. Cheapest I have found.

Anyway, though you'd like a healthy way to get what your are craving.

Be well,
robi

Trails,
Yes! I have turned into a carnivorous monster. I want beef, chicken, turkey, etc.

This has definitely happened over the past year or two and actually I do listen to my cravings and make them as healthy as possible.

I remember reading that protein is necessary for rebuilding the body. That people during illness and post surgically should increase protein. I do lots of rice/beans and combos with meats/veggies but what I really want is a plate of beef.

It seems as the sugar cravings go away, they are replaced with meat, salt and fat cravings. Oh well, moderation is the key! [Big Grin]

Marnie -- Since I am on Plaquenil that means it is changing my Ph balance to more alkaline without even trying. (pretty nifty huh?) But I do not want sweets or carbs or fruit. I just want a big ol plate of beef with spices and maybe topped with an egg. If you are eating meat--(acid) as you said---then are you making your body more acidic? Maybe coz of the Plaquenil my body is trying to even out the balance--and it will never succeed while I am taking this med!

Robi--thanks for the hints! I don't seem to be able to sustain healthy protein intake no matter how hard I try. I love all things pig and cow. I am not too much a bird gal. Of course if the fish had less mercury--that would be eaten daily. Mollusks come in at a close 2nd behind pig.

LOL!

chroniccosmic-- This gives new meaning to the saying I could eat a HORSE. I really almost could!

Thanks guys!

I got rid of the Bb while taking supplements with iron. I don't know the direct answer, but I know I feel better when I'm not anemic.

Me too. I crave protein & fat. It is especially bad while I'm on Tetra. I need to eat meat & eggs. I order grass fed meat & raw milk cheese online. There is more info about this at mercola.com. I order from us wellness meats. I don't eat any sugar nor do I crave it. I eat sardines in oil too.

I think the fat stimulates bile which helps to remove toxins. Essential when herxing.

Last year when I switched to Plaquenil & Biaxin my diet/appetite/preferences, changed completely. I ate lots of salad then.

Cholesterol synthesis requires HMG CoA *reductase. (To INactivate this enzyme = Mg. Even though to make that enzyme initially requires Mg!)

Ketone body formation requires HM + CoA *lyase.

These are enzymes...and all enzymes (proteins, etc) need Mg to be made somewhere along the line.

Ketogenic diet...sound familiar? High in fats and proteins...

"It is known that ketones can shut down an enzyme called phosphofructokinase (6) . This enzyme plays a critical role in glycolysis, a process that may be the only source of energy for cancer cells.

Without sufficient energy, cells cannot produce sufficient ATP. This creates a build-up of free radicals that can lead to apoptosis. Normal cells are not necessarily affected in the same manner because they derive most of their daily energy needs from the Krebs cycle (7) ."

http://www.apjohncancerinstitute.org/caatdoctorprotocol1.htm

When I went to verify the above website, it was not available. However, the following 2 websites provide similar information.

www.apjohncancerinstitute.org/newsletter-old2.htm

http://www.lowcarbluxury.com/newsletter/lclnewsvol03-no04-pg2.html

Magnesium pyrophosphate, a known inhibitor of the kinase reaction (M. G. Thomas and J. C.Escalante-Semerena, unpublished results...

Kinase...phosphofructokinase = PFK, the enzyme that is "rate limiting" for glycolysis. Bb is PFK dependent.

Mg pyrophosphate is part of Valletta's U.S. patent..."Magnesium for autoimmune".

The main dietary source of choline is meat.

Bb is after our choline. We respond by pulling Mg, phosphorus, B1 (thiamine) and B6 to fight.

Restore the balance to heal.
