My dad had it unrelated to Lyme and it improved after surgical intervention.

Yes, I had it, It improved with the other neurological symptoms once treatment was started (and then restarted and restarted again). It reoccured after intial and second treatment failure.

i have dropfoot really bad, am having alot of trouble walking. is there anything i can do. i have had lyme since may o2 please help is there any special treatment. i take therapy and is not helping. also i have no energy. also my hand and toes curl and shoulder is stooped. like to hear what others have done for this.

I am a PT and for foot drop for stroke patients they buy a AFO(brace) to keep the foot from dragging. I had the hand and foot curling thing and I read that it is dystonia maybe caused by Bartonella.

I had foot drop, unrelated to Lyme, I had a compound fracture of my leg and severed the nerve.
I wore a brace so I wouldn't trip over my foot, and did not do any formal rehab, just whenever I was sitting around tried to point and flex as much as possible, which was none in the begining. Like a ballerina, only without the grace.
Walking would have been unnecessarily hard without the brace. And when the brace was off I was constantly working my leg.
I was in a wheelchair due to other injuries when I first hurt my leg, so I wasn't walking but still wore the brace. I'd say it was 4 months before I could walk well.
I don't have foot drop anymore, but I still have nerve damage.

Yes. I had it to an annoying and embarrassing degree when I first became ill, but it has disappeared with treatment. If I skip a few pills due to scheduling issues, it occasionally comes back a bit, but when I'm taking all my meds, no foot drop.

This happens for me sometimes if I get overly tired or overexert myself.
First, my foot will start to go numb, and then it goes into this drop foot thing. I usually have to get off my feet if things get to this point.
Although most of my symptoms have improved considerably with treatment and many have completely disappeared, this particular one has gotten worse over the past month.
Today, my acupuncturist worked on that leg and told me that the energy was all blocked up and all my muscles were tense. She used a technique called cupping, which she said would be more helpful than the needles to help this.
I'm hoping this will help.

Foot drop can also be a sign of a rutpured or bulging disc.
You can just have your foot go numb/drop and not any real back pain and this can be a cause of a disc problem. Usually only discovered on a MRI.
You may want to ask your doc about this.
