Hi,

As embarrasing as this is to talk about, here it goes. I have been on Levaquin 3 months for Bart and Valtrex for herpes for about 3 weeks. I have had blood(bright red) in my stool quite a bit starting the second month. I went to doc today who did a rectal exam and he told me he felt hemorroids, which I have had my whole life, but he looked up there and said the color of the anal cavities seemed to "not right" to him. He said he didn't feel any tumors and doesn't think it is colon cancer. I am female and 36. I read somewhere that Lev can cause GI bleeding. Does anyone know anything about this or anyone know more than I do about bleeding from there. Still scared it's Cancer and GP is sending me to see a specialist next week. Thanks

Levaquin destroyed my stomach in about a month. Just substitute in rifampin.

I feel for ya! I'm due for a colonoscopy in two weeks and to protect me from bacteria, the dr is ordering IV abx during it, and one Levaquin the day before, day of, and day after.

I've never had Levaquin before and am a bit anxious about taking it. He said I needed a "gram negative" abx.

Hang in there, and PM me if you need help.
