My doc said I might consider taking some Himalayan Salt. Bought some crystals at the local Whole Foods store. How much of this stuff should I take? Anyone out there tried this? I did a search but it looked liked mostly people were doing the Salt/C regemin, which is different.

I love the pink Himalayan salt, it's the only kind I use for cooking and eating. Somewhere or other there is info about its properties, but basically it hasn't been stripped of all nutrients like the NaCl in the store. I read somehwere that salt has the exact number and proportion of minerals as the human body, I think (when left untreated / unbleaced / un-aluminum added).
Anyway, yes, that is different from the Salt/C cleanse. If I remember, the person on the Salt/C site said that table salt is *not* the best salt to use as it is too hard to ingest in the large quantities needed and that getting the cheap-o salt pills (like runners use) was the best way to go in that case.
