Subject: Fw: TICK REMOVAL TIP FROM A SCHOOL NURSE _
This works in difficult to access places on the body such as between the toes or on the head with thick hair
TECHNIQUE:
1. Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball.
2. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball.
3. Swab it for 15-20 seconds.
4. The tick will come out on its own and will be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away.
5. Much less traumatic to the patient, especially kids.
The nurse reported that "This technique has worked every time I've used it" (and in KY, that was frequently). Additional comment by the nurse [I even had my doctor's wife call me for advice because she had one stuck to her back and she couldn't reach it with tweezers. She used this method and immediately called me back to say, "It worked!"]
Hope you never have to use this technique!!

Wait!!!!!!!! wouldn't this make the tick empty it's gut contents into your body????? Isn't this like applying a hot match or oil? I thought those were now forbidden methods of tick removal.
Please clarify if and how this is safe.
