I've been on Burbur and Cumanda a couple weeks ago and I'm having GI issues.

I'm almost constantly nauseous, worst on an empty stomach or if I eat anything that's not bland and starchy. I have lower abdominal cramps and had loose stool that is now diarhea. I'm on day 5 of eating crackers and chicken soup.

After taking either one, I feel a slight ache in my gallbladder. Then I feel things squish around in my intestinal track.

My doctor's office said this means its working and to continue. But is there a point where it's too much? I'm up to 6 drops of Cumanda twice a day and 8 drops of Burbur 2-3 times a day (I skip the 3rd if my stomach won't take it).

Thanks all.

Hi Aniek,
It sounds like you may have major yeast issues and Cumanda is great at killing those off, so you are becoming quite toxic. I found that Burbur was not enough for my level of toxicity. In fact, I dropped it when it ran out. Ihad constant nausea, just like you.

I would add chlorella and take digestive enzymes with each dose of chlorella to help you break it down. Start with one capsule per day and work up as high as you can get, going very slowly. The chlorella and enzyme should be taken with the Cumanda.

I use the broken cell wall chlorella (Jarrow brand) because it is easier to digest. I only add one capsule per week, so my gut can get used to it. I am up to 5 caps with my am dose of Samento or Cumanda, and 4 caps with my pm dose.

This has made all the difference for me in GI issues, and in being able to raise the dose of Cumanda and Samento. I now take 10 drops of Cumanda, twice daily, and I could take more if I wanted to. But, without the enzymes, chlorella made my digestive problems far worse, so make sure to take them along with it.

It has also lowered my pain level so much, that for the first time in over 20 years, I am easily reducing my dose of Xanax, without scary withdrawl symptoms! I am guessing that much of my "FMS" pain was caused by being toxic.

If you want to read more, go to www.samento.com.ec, click on Lyme borreliosis library and read about the Cowden Protocol by Dr.Lee Cowden.

Good luck,
Klutzo

Klutzo,

How you you time your chlorella? I started it, but I can't get it into my schedule with everything else.

I take medication, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, pain supplements and probiotics. It's hard enough to pace, but my understanding is Chlorella needs to be taken 2 hours apart from all the above because it binds with them.

Oh, great Aniek - I just ordered two bottles of each. I haven't tried them before.

I'm not going to start them both together. One thing at a time for me.

Well, I learned with the Samento to just go slow and build up gradually so you know when you have hit your personal level of action without too much ``reaction''.

You might consider talking to ``Derek'' at Susan's Herbs'' 1-800-215-4682. That's where I ordered my stuff from (best prices). He has a lot of Lyme customers and says he is more than happy to consult with anyone about the herbs. BTW, he had Lyme himself.

I suspect he would be very helpful about when to take the chlorella, too, and manage all that you are doing.

Klutzo, I also ordered the new ``Algas'', which is the new NutriMedix `metal detox' product. I think you were asking about it on another thread? Maybe not.

Truthfinder,
The Burbur helps detox the die off from Cumanda. I would either start Burbur first or both together, but not Cumanda alone.

I have been on both products and did not experience nausea. I had mild herxheimer reactions from the Cumanda, which were made considerably more tolerant with extra doses of Burbur.

I became allergic to Burbur a few months after starting it. The herxheimer reactions were more severe.

Good luck.

I also would not keep increasing the dose if the reaction was becoming too intense. I would either hold at the dosage you are on or decrease to a tolerable level. IMHO.

I am taking Burbur at the moment and I am tolerating it fine. I plan to add Samento, Cumanda, Chlorella and a few others in a few months. I only started ABX for lyme about 6 weeks ago and I will probably be adding Flagyl next week, so I am taking it very slowly.

Let me know if you notice any differences.

I'm doing better now. Not 100%, but the diarhea is gone and I can eat protein again.

I'm not doing the full Samento protocol. I'm treating my Lyme with abx. I started Cumanda and Burbur for yeast.

I'm trying to replace as many meds as possible with natural options, but I definitely improve on abx so I'm not ready to stop those.
