After my latest experience at a doctors office I have determined that there are sure signs to detecting a doc that has no clue about LD.
It starts out by he or she calling Lyme "Lymes".
Then they say "Well I will order a titer that will tell us if you even have Lymes"
After that if you choose to push the Lyme issue you may hear "Well if you were on all those abx then it can't still be Lymes, even if you did have Lymes at all"
I could go on, but I think it should be like baseball, 3 quacks and the duck is out!!!!

I always ask them if they've ever had a patient with lyme disease. You can usually tell from their answer, or just their reation to the question in general.
If it quacks like a duck.... it's probably a duck.

HA! Yepper.. a duck is a duck is a duck..
Sorry you had that happen.
My dream.. one of them.. would be if everytime we heard a duck say ANY of those things that are SO stupid.. that we'd get up.. grab our stuff and head out the door.. with our last words being...
"When you learn to pronounce it properly... then you can send me a bill.. a DUCK BILL".

I suppose I'm lacking in diplomatic skills. when I say my pcp last week, I had all my sx lists , all the docs I've seen and all the tests I've had over the last 18 months. I then asked her what side of the fence she sat on...that there were two sides...lyme literate or lyme illiterate doctor. WELL! I got blasted. Needless to say their was no phone consult with a LLMD coming from that office.
