Now I know what people meant when they've said "you'll just know" when it's a true allergy.
As usual, I took my Ceftin, Nystatin and Omeprazole this morning.
A few minutes later, I felt very tired, and 20 minutes into that I started to feel 'peppery/tingly on my skin/face", followed by a very flushed feeling. When I got up to look in the mirror, my face was RED and my neck and chest were full of red blothes.
Then I started to feel shaky and jelly-like and my heart was racing. Of course, I was also panicked by then.
I took an antihistamine and called an ambulance as it's Sunday morning, I couldn't just go to my doctor's office.
Ambulance people said I did the right thing.
Feel totally drained now and kind of unwell feeling.
Two days ago, when I woke up from a nap about 2pm, I felt nauseous and weak and had diarrhea............I thought I had a stomach virus, but now I think it may have been an initial allergic reaction, either to Ceftin, Omeprazole, Nystatin or DIFLUCAN, because I had taken a Diflucan rihgt before my nap......but, today I have not taken Diflucan, so it can't be that, at least not today.
I'm a bit scared of taking any meds again now as I'm not 100% sure which med did this, although I guess Abx are most likely culprit...does anyone know statistically which is the likely one??

YIKES!! I'm so sorry this happened!! Good choice to call the ambulance!
Statistically, I don't know. But my gut says Ceftin.
Be sure to call your LLMD Monday morning!
Are you supposed to take more antihistamines today, or what did they tell you to do??
Hope you feel MUCH better VERY soon!!

Hi Lymetoo,
The Loratidine 10mg is supposed to be a 24-hour one (I think, not I'm getting unsure), so they said don't take anymore and the ambulance people called the hospital and made me an appointment to see out of hours doctor at 4pm, so in 3.5 hours from now.
They said if it started to come back to call ambulance again.
So, I'm just sitting here trying to not panic, and just so washed out and tired and feel weird. I guess that is normal though after a reaction.
I have an appt with my LLMD anyway on Wednesday, so I might just tell him then as I'm not going to touch any meds between now and then and probably at least not for two weeks. So, now Penicillins and Cephalosporins are probably a no-go zone for me.
Was supposed to start Biaxin but scared to do taht also because last time I tried that I got really bad instant diarrhea..
I hope there is some way around this to continue treatment as my biggest fear right now is not being able to continue with anything an relapsing back to square one or beyond.

Yeah, Ceftin sounds like it could be the guilty one....or omeprazole.

I feel like I've been hit by a freight train and have a low-grade temp and chills and feel kidn of shaky and spacey.
Saw the emergency doctor and he said double the dose of Loratidine and take it for about 2 weeks if I want. As I was there the blotches were reappearing, so at least he could see them for himself.
He did think it's very weird that I've had a reaction to these meds several months into them though. I do too, but I know it CAN happen, and I guess it just did.
Surprisingly, he did not react negatively to my chronic Lyme diagnosis, he was in fact very interested and wanted to talk more about that than the problem I was actually there for.

dll, i was going to suggest you have the hospital go over your complete list of RX meds, OTC, suplements, herbs, just everything.
have them run the interaction tests but typing in the meds; they will tell you which upset the other meds! best wishes, and thanks for reporting back from ER!
