All day I have been experience gagging and dry heaving. It happened to me one day last week in the morning.
I have no idea what is causing it. It feels like it has something to do with my vagas nerve because my heart beat seems off.
I have not vomited, thank goodness but this issue is difficult to deal with. I'm hoping it will be gone by tomorrow.

I had this frequently but it was triggered by MCS multiple chemical sensitivities!!! OH, before that I did have it not from that it was from acid reflux and went away with Prilosec!!!!!!!!!!!! That was the first month I was sick, when a lot of things first hit!!! Yucky, huh? I hope yours goes away!! You should see a doc about it!!!!

Can't offer much help -- nausea and dry heaves have been pretty much daily companions for hubby for last 6 years. Temporary improvement from parasite treatment, IV antibiotics for Lyme and meds for babs.
Currently taking nausea meds every 6 hours for last 2 weeks. Has helped with the dry heaves, but not stomach aches.
Don't think there is a magic pill or even a single most likely cause for these symptoms.
Trial and error seems to be the way to go. Could be diet related or med side effects or candida or a million other things.

sorry to hear about the nausea. Been there for quite some time now. When I got to this point like on the verge of puking but not actually puking all the time the following helped me. The teas, ginger ect.. didn't seem to put a dent in it:
1- rx phenergan. It makes me sleepie but does the trick. Not good for me for long term use though.
2-prilosec but didn't want to stay on too long due to acid rebound & c-diff possible consequences.
3- liquid carafate..A bit tricky trying to take this & space it out along with fluids & meds

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I had just one bout of gagging today w/o dry heaving.
Dana - what does Proton pump inhibitors ie. Prilosec, Previcid have to do with C Diff. I'm just curious as I take Previcid because I think it helps with nausea but I don't want to get C diff. I also take Phenergan for nausea when it is really bad and it usually puts me to sleep.
Bea - on another post you recommended reading bells palsy of the gut at thehumansideoflyme.com this was one of the best reads explaining all of my GI stuff that I'm experiencing -- so thanks.
This disease is so strange and why on earth did it have to befall me. I'm sure that everyone here asked this question frequently. Uggg.

I had nausea when I first got sick with lyme-etc., but once I started treatment things stayed better in that department. I hope thuis goers away for you soon! DaveS

I have read articles that link the use of c-diff & PPI's. I know sometimes I have had to use them but tried not to stay on very long. The use of abx & PPI's may increase the risk. Not trying to spook ya out of using the PPI's - just to mention that was one of the reasons personally I didn't want to stay on PPI's for very long.

I have had nausea daily since 2004. Sometimes with dry heaving, sometimes with vomiting. I recommend trying Reglan-I have done several courses of this over the last year or so and it seems to help. I also keep Tigan with me at all times- it is a great anti-nausea medication. These pills have made my nausea more manageable, but obviously are not the end answer. I can relate to what you're going through- mine also came on suddenly. I've even had a scope stuck into my stomach by one doctor who was convinced I had a hiatal hernia! I didn't, and my internist put me back on the anti-nausea combo I described above. Good Luck!
