I think I have a yeast problem, please tell me what you think.
On abx for 2.5 months - doxy, mino, recently started artemisinin, zith, and mepron. I take theralac daily along with 10 billion other probiotic.
Symptoms occuring within the last week: bloating tender tummy white coating of tounge can't really eat much d/t bloating and feeling full and tummy hurting
I called LLMD waiting to hear back. Got ahold of family doc and told him I had yeast and needed diflucan and he rxed for 1 pill.
Questions:
Will 1 diflucan pill take care of the yeast? Should I back off of the abx? I know I know talk to LLMD What else homeopathically (is that a word) can I do. What is the best "azole" for treating yeast? Will it every go away if one is on long term abx? Do you have to be on yeast treatment as long as you are on abx?
So many questions but all the wisdom to be found with you all from lymenet! Otherwise I would not even know about candida.
I always like to know what has worked for everyone.

Sounds like yeast. I woke up with a coated tongue this morning myself.
Sounds like you are doing good things as far as taking probiotics. It is also important to take nystatin along with your meds and probiotics to help control the yeast.
Dyflucan will help but the most important thing to do when on long term antibiotics is watch your diet. This means NO SUGAR. Alcohol is also a BIG NO NO.

Thanks buddy, thats what I was afraid of 1 tablet not doing the trick. But you know what family docs are taught about diflucan that 1 pill clears up a yeast infection.
So hopefully I will get some more diflucan or nystatin from LLMD early next week. I wonder what is better diflucan or nystatin?
I don't do sugar in diet and mostly complex carbs. Will definatelly watch diet more closely.
