I will be having an operation done in a few weeks that will

necessitate my sedation with general anesthesia? In what

ways, if any, could this affect my TBI-compromised nervous

system?

Thanks, all,

Adam

I've gone under twice with Lyme and haven't had any problems.

Yes!!!! Anesthesia has steriods in it that can lower your immune system.

When I had surgery in Feb, I asked the anessthesia doc not to put steriods in my meds and thankfully he was able to do it.

Be SURE your anestheologist knows ahead of time that you have lyme!

You might want to give him/her a chance to do some research if he/she is not up on the implications.

Sis (with lyme) also went under twice with no problems.

I have been under anesthesia 5 times in 10 months
(yes, its' been a bad year). The first 4 times it took me a lot longer than normal to recover. This last time I was fine within a day. I attribute that to the bioresonance therapy that is helping me get well. I also make sure they never add anything prior to surgery to calm me, just so there is less drugs to deal with. Hiker
