I think it depends on how you contracted lyme. If you were bitten by a tick then you probably have coinfections. But what if you were bitten by another carrier such as a mosquito or flea? Or what if you got Lyme through an infected person's bodily fluid?

I would think it would be no different. I don't believe we were infected by ticks, it was most likely a mosquito. And, yes, we test positive for co-infections, but no Lyme! Go figure.
