Do the same problems exist with bartonella testing as do with Lyme itself, or is bartonella testing more accurate/reliable?
Reading the boards and many of your comments, it seems that so many of the symptoms I've had can be strongly related to bart. Yet I know I was tested for that and numerous other co's by my LLMD, and came out clear. Can I take rely on those results?
I will of course broach this subject with him again in Nov appt, but interested in your take and/or experience with this.
many Thanks,
onthemend

Apparently, Bart tests have similar flaws to Babs and Bb.
I recently had a Bart test from Fry Labs, and decided to have BOTH the blood smear AND the titer. The titer came back negative and the blood smear was positive.
The reverse result for Babs--blood smear negative and titer positive.
Previously, the Bowen Research Lab test had been negative for both, but later I found out they only tested for one strain of each.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

I think all tests are pretty unreliable. So many negatives when they really are positives.
The Bart test I had from Igenex came back negative. Though the Fry Lab smear I had done was + for Bart.
I didn't even know I had Bart. My LLMD and I were thinking more along the lines of Babesia since I have all those symptoms. I don't even know the symptoms of Bart.
