Oh My Gosh! Ever since I started doxy I am having joint pains all over. It has been getting progressively worse with every day it seems.

My left hip is always in terrible pain, deep inside, like my hip has been pulled apart and left hanging.

There seems to be no comfortable way to sit or stand at times. Anyone experiencing this?

Is it a good thing, possibly the abx working???
Thanks for insight!
Laura

Hi laura

I had horrible rt sided hip pain for the first 7 years, untill my first IV treatment in 94/95. It would flare ~ wax & wane. Some times really horrible, and I would limp.

My rt sided hip pain turned out to be from lyme because after treament the hip pain went away. Was on 9 years of doxy followup & was at remained at 80% better. No more hip pain.

But it seems to have settled in my back now though. Moist heat helps. Sorry I can't remember how I would sit, it was so long ago.

It sounds like you may be herxing from the doxy? When I herx my pain level in general goes way up. I hate to say but it may be a good thing, meaning you are having a die off & experienceing a herx and kicking some serious kete but. I would call your doc & let him/her know whats going on, maybe they may have some good advice.

Hope you can find some relief soon [group hug]
Dana

I had horrible hip pain, too -- and in fact my hip *was* dislocating periodically. I was on a cane for several months due to the pain.

After a year and a half of treatment, my hip generally doesn't hurt, and on days when it does, it is bearable.

Ketek was the drug that made the biggest difference in the hip, overall.

Hope you feel better soon!

My first major joint involvment was my right hip.

It was so painful it would wake me up at night.

Felt like my hip was seperating like when I was 9 months pregnant. [Eek!]

Doxy helped with this. I am back on doxy following one year of babs and bart treatment.

Wouldn't you know? My hip pain is back.

Hang in there.

Hugs,

Geneal
