Well after many months of pure hell...the tests Dr. C did in NY from Stonybrook came back saying ELISA positive for Lyme and Western Blot Indeterminate with band 41 and others?

This is what happened in July and the ID monster from Danbury Hospital told me to stop taking the doxy for Lyme...I did not have it. Then it was band 39 and others...not tested at Stonybrook. He said I only had Babesia and the 8 days of Mephron and Zith were enough. He was WRONG.

Since then I have not tested positive again so they would not treat me anywhere (3 hospitals later). I am on day 10 of Rocephin with Dr. C.

I am not even sure how I feel about the new test results...my head is spinning from the Rocephin. The co-infections did not come back yet from the local lab.

Is this a good thing? or does it still mean nothing?

Hi Monica,

I would take it as a good thing. It can at least give you piece of mind.

That positive ELISA might help you in the future if you have problems getting your insurance to pay.

Remember, lyme is a clinical dx. Dr. C just runs the test to ease your mind. He treats whether it's positive or negative.

Did you discuss a PICC line with him today so you don't have travel to his office everyday?

Don't worry about the tests. The important thing is you don't have to goto any ducks anymore. Your getting treatment and your getting it alot earlier than alot of lyme patients.

You just hang in there.
