Means the Dr dosent grasp whats up.

Her lyme you said shes sick 6 yrs. Well her immune system is no longer recognizing the lyme or its so bad that all her antibodies are tied up attacking spirochetes thats why low titers igg igm.
Get a LLMD and have him treat her for a month then run western blot.
Also she could do a 3 day urine test starting abx's the first day and continuing the abx's for the week rest of 3daytest and rest of month for western blot.

Heres Why when abxs start killing spirochetes it will release the antigens and antibodies & pieces of dead spirochetes DNA which will show up in the blood and urine.

Good Luck.

Yes, I agree with Tree. My LLMD had me take abx, then get the WB.

Read Dr. C's explanation of the WB
http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=042077

It is entirely possible to have a negative WB and still be infected. Has she been tested for co-infections? That's another possibility.

doc,
Our posts must have crossed. If she has babs, she probably has lyme although one can have babs only supposedly.

Yes, sometimes the tests convert after taking abx. Dr. C. say's around 36% I think.

I think what your LLMD is saying is that she has been exposed to Lyme ... which is all he can say from the test as that's all the test shows ... that's all any Western Blot can show .... diagnosis is clinical, supported by tests.

I think he's showing he's willing to treat since she's already on meds. Hang in there. It takes a long time to get better once it's gone chronic.

My LLMD always calls late and calls in prescripts late .... he's busy all day .... it's great that they're there for us like that. I might have the same one as your wife as mine's in NY .... he got me better. [Smile]

Doc, that means he's treating her for Lyme. A clinical dx is all you need. Hang in there, it will take time if she's been ill that long.

I agree with others about LLMD's working long hours. Mine even emails me on Sundays and he also works late hours. I've had calls from his home before!

Welcome to Lymenet. [hi]
