I went to my PCP today. He said that I was his only Lyme case. He said that he will follow whatever protocol my LLMD had to offer. He admitted knowing NOTHING about Lyme.
He then called my LLMD (1000+ miles away). They spoke on the phone while I was in the office. They discussed the treatment/doses...
He said he is going to follow the LLMD completely.
LLMD said that I did not need to go up there with such a willing MD

Great news. I'm always on the look out for "Lyme friendly" doctors, who are willing to work with LLMD doctors. We need more cooperation among physicians!

If the guy seems willing down the line, give his name to your local Lyme support group.

I knew there were blessings out there, Lily. I also have that type of primary doc.
I just wish it wasn't so rare? A doctor that wants to learn something to help you and I'm POSITIVE many others.
Keep this primary doc aware of all symptoms, all meds, all supps/vit or anything else you do that is part of your protocol....
Give him results good and bad of everything.

Lily, that was exactly how I've seen it for over 8 yrs now. I don't have to argue with my PCP. He gets its.
He got it from day 1 with me (well almost). So many people on this board only have a LLMD, sometimes that doc is hours away from home or no LLMD at all. It makes me sad.

Yes, I only have an LLMD and like alot of lyme docs does not take insurance and doesn't fill out disability paperwork. I understand her position but it puts me in a bind. I accept paying out of pocket, the paperwork part is tough for me b/c I have no other doctor to do this...
