I have a couple of questions about Bicillin....
First, is it hard to get at a regular pharmacy (Walgreens, Costco, etc.)? Also, what about insurance coverage? Anyone have problems?
I have Medco for pharmacy benefits and looked it up online. Which Bicillin will I most likely need?
Bicillin C-R Syr 2ml Adult 1s 1.2mu Bicillin C-R Tubex 1ml 1'S 600,000 Bicillin C-R Tubex 4ml 1'S 2.4mu Bicillin C-R 9c/3c Syr 1.2mu | Bicillin C-R Syringe 2ml 600000u Bicillin L-A Syringe 4ml 2.4mu Bicillin La Tubex 1ml 1'S 600000u Bicillin La Tubex 2ml
Looks like for all of them 2 a week (which is the normal dose, right?) My co-pay is $80.00 per month.
Just trying to be prepared for my LLMD consult. Thanks!
Shelly

Ours was shipped to us from our mail order pharmacy (Medco) with no problem. Just be sure they package and refrigerate it properly.
After that insurance went away a pharmacy at the local hospital got the bicillin, but could not get it in the Tubex syringe. Tubex lets you draw back and easily see if you're in a blood vessel; nice level of comfort but not totally necessary.
I was not able to get bicillin easily from any other local pharmacy (I tried costco, walmart, safeway and 3 others).
Dose is often bicillin LA 1 ml 600,000 IU, 2 at a time for a total dose of 1,200,000 IU every 5 days.
