I'll be there wearing a brown and beige casual dress. Actually has giraffe's on it, but it doesn't stand out as being that, so looks a little like op art???? But I'll be there with my husband and two college aged daughters so finding a family a four may be easier to locate.
My daughters also have lyme (all four of us do) and they are both college aged, but they are always thought to be much younger in "looks" than what they are. Amber will have bright red hair that tends to stand out.
Please come over and introduce yourself. I'd like to meet those that are able to make this special event.

I think I'll be wearing a dark blue, casual dress with white polka dots and likely a white sweater (always cold). I'm in my mid-30's with dirty blonde hair. Really looking foward to connecting with some of you!!

I'm in Italy right now, so I unfortunately can't make it. I'll be back in Springfield MA in June.

Larkspur,
I can definitely relate to the herxing. I've been up most of the night with pain, so hopefully I'll dose a bit on the drive down there. If not, I'll be a walking zombie.
But I definitely understand your feeling that I'm going no matter what the condition. For an event like this, I will be more comfortable in herxing mode than going to just about any other event in my life.
Hang in there and hopefully I'll see you there.
Pinchot Gail,
Sure, you can wear paint, crowns, anything your little heart desires. We accept everyone just as they are.
Kristin,
Look forward to seeing you there!
Everyone have a safe trip and see you tonight.

Back at my hotel after the Turn the Corner viewing of "Under Our Skin". As others have said that saw this at Tribeca...."Wow".
Excellent movie that covered so many angles and after hearing the names of so many of these doctors for so long, it was also nice to be able to put a face to those as well.
They did sell copies of the DVD that we did pick up. This is the DVD with ONLY the movie and not all the extra's but it felt good to get a copy in my hands.
Also, getting to meet and talk to you Kristin before the show was so wonderful. There's always a comfort in meeting someone that can really relate to our stories.
Also, Landspur.....seeing you after the show was also an added bonus. I'm sorry we didn't have more time to talk but when everyone is heading out, it's always rough timing.
I was very pleased with having so many of the LLMD's present and also many of the "characters" from the movie. It's definitely heart felt and something I think all of us here will be very interested in seeing.
The question was presented as to when and where they may be showing this film for others to see, but at this time, they aren't sure which avenue it will be going. They said Turn the Corner may have some dealings for them and they are also hoping to either get it on tv movie theatres, but so far, the set plans haven't been made.
I do hope that everyone here will be able to have a chance to see this wonderful movie since it really does help validate the issues all of us here have had to deal with in this disease.

It was an amazing event.
There were probably about 300 people there, since the seat count was about 300-350 and they were very nearly all filled.
Turn the Corner put on a fine event: buffet, photographer (check their website soon for photos), promotional packet, and goodie bags on the way out.
The patients featured in the story were there, as were many of the ILADS docs: Doctor B, both J's, R, McD, and M from CO come to mind.
They tell it like it is in this film. There are quotes from Wormser and Shapiro, and they are refuted. In fact, they seem pretty foolish saying there is no such thing as this or that, when the evidence is in the people in the film, who get better with long-term treatment.
Yes, if your have dealt with Lyme, this film will make you laugh, cry, and get angry. For people who have not dealt with Lyme, I think they will understand most of the controversy. Yes, this film lived up to my expectations, and I would recommend that we play it everywhere we can.
Two thumbs way, way up, Shaz
