Wow. I'm having my husband tested this month as well. He has a few symptoms that are worrisome.
I'm really starting to believe that most, if not all, people have lyme and have no idea whatsoever. Either they have some symptoms that aren't major and live that way without a clue their entire lives or they have some symptoms but their immune system is still doing its job and keeping the lyme at bay...
What did your boyfriend think of the results?!
I'm curious, what are all of his symptoms? Just the few you listed? I'm just really curious now since I'm having my husband tested this month and he also only has a few symptoms but are starting to worry me.
PS - It's very unlikely that you GAVE it to him. No one will know for sure, but it's more likely that he was bitten by a tick (or mosquito or flea), etc. Does he have pets, does he go for hikes, go to the park a lot, etc.?

hi, I just spoke to Dr.H at Igenex and he said that my boyfriend should reconfirm with a special test,I think called epitot # 488 and 489. So that's what we will do.
The only sym my boyfriend has is aches and pains all over, but not everyday.
He did say that back in 1975 he went camping in British Columbia and shortly after came down with flu like symptoms, that lasted years.
They said it was mono.
He stays fit,by working out at the gym and sailing.
He also went to Westchester county every summer, when he was a kid.
Who knows..
Thanks to all. Atheana

Go down a list of Lyme symptoms.
The waxing and waning of symptoms is common with Lyme.
I was shocked to find I had more than 50 when I first did the list.
Maybe find a LLMD first and see what he/she says.
Lyme is a clinical diagnosis.
Serology only can support that.

I think there is an explanation on the Igenex testing which states the criteria for Positive.
Look for something on the results that says:
Igenex IgM WB is considered postive if two or more o th the double starred bands are present.
Igenex IgG WB is considered postive if two or more of the double starred bands are present.
On my test the double starred bands were **23-25 **31 **34 **39 **41 **83-93
So if two or more of those were postive than the test would read positive. Your friend had an IND on one of his-which my LLMD considers positive.
Besides- Lyme Disease can also be a clinical diagnosis-even with supposedly negative bloodwork.

I seem to be repeating people here. Well, let's just say-re-inforcing what they are saying.
