I just wanted to post my gratitude to the ILADS doctors who are fighting to get Lyme recognized, treated, and us as patients respected.

They have developed a protocol that works very well for so many people, and many lymenetters over the years have signed off in good health due to ILADS doctors.

Dr. J. has been fighting for the health of little lymies, and what a struggle that has been.

I'm not a person who has the ability to be treated with the full ILADS / Dr.B. protocol, because of chronic fungal infections and lack of insurance, so you will often find me posting about complementary and alternative treatments. Besides, that is my passion and my choice.

I enjoy the forward thinking discussions here on lymnet, and have benefitted greatly form them.

So lets say that here on lymenet we actually came across an "alternative" cure - say that a homeopathic made from some south american plant combined with some electrical device would cure lyme for all forever.

Exploration and even success in these areas would not gather any respect from the AMA, the CDC, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies any time in the near future.

While I'm not personally able to do the antibiotics routine, I'm so grateful that ILADS is there treating those who choose to use that method, and working towards getting our diagnosis respected in the medical community.

One step at a time. I'm so grateful to these doctors for pushing the limits of what is accepted in the medical community, and for providing health for so many. They are forward-thinking and brave.
