Sorry for all the posts tonight! I was reading a lot today!

I read Vitamin C supplements can interfere with abx absorption! What? Heard about this? I'll try to find the link I saw today.

Thanks.

Mine started me on 2000 mg a day then 6000 a day. I just stopped based on what I read. I am surprised we don't hear more of this! I might even stop my multi and just do the probiotics and magnesium, maybe B complex.

I know supplement levels of vitamin E can interfere with Mepron but I only get about 10IU in my fish oil.

So you don't take vitamin C at the same time as your antibiotics. As an example of a similar case, nothing interferes with the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics more than calcium. If you ingest them together, it will bind the antibiotic in the stomach and completely prevent absorption. Recommended solution from pharmacist/doctors? Take the antibiotics at least 2-3 hours away from dairy products and calcium supplements.

That 2-3 hour rule ensures that they will not encounter one another in your digestive tract. I don't see why Vitamin C would be any different. I wouldn't be so quick to write off Vitamin C as a supplement.

Also, which antibiotics did you hear don't play well with Vitamin C? Its important to be specific with warnings like this, antibiotics do not share any universal properties.

Thanks, I do take my priobiotics 2-3 hours from my abx. I also try to take my multi and fish oil apart from my Mepron because it has Vit. E although only 10IU. I forget where I read about the C and abx - I'll find the link. He said to avoid C when taking abx for lyme, but didn't specify beyond.
