I ask because I have been reading a lot of studies that have found extra oils in the diet, omega 3 supplements, olive oil, etc...can supress the immune system. All the omegas in my opinion you should be able to get from whole foods.
Obviously, if sick one may need supplementation, but the immune suppression is concerning.

Richedie - I took a look at those studies...
Those studies are talking about large doses of fish oil. And when you give large doses to rats and other small animals - this is much different than taking 1-2 krill oil supplements per day.
I for one am going to keep taking my krill oil supplements. I believe the benefit outweighs the risk. I think this supplement is especially important because my LLMD has recommended that we not eat too much fish because of high mercury levels.

How do you feel about eating wild caught Tuna? What about Cod Liver oil that is supposedly Mercury free? Still scares me even if a trace!

The reason I supplement is because I don't eat enough foods that contain the good oils... so I supplement. What I am saying is supplementing at reasonable levels will not harm us. Not getting omega3 and omega6 oils in the body AT ALL is harmful.
I don't do Tuna, swordfish, cod liver oil... I cut out most seafood based on advice from llmd due to heavy metals. Basically all the whole foods that used to supply my omega oils... have been eliminated. We supplement with krill oil (mercury free)omega supplements...
Considering the amount of fish I have eaten in a lifetime... a trace isn't going to hurt me too much so once in a while I do eat some seafood(I love seafood).
Eliminating the source of the poisoning is important (fish, teeth, fish oil omegas w/ mercury)
Detoxing is important too.
