That doesn't sound like a very long time for treatment if you've had it for six years. In my opinion, if you're still having symptoms, you are not cured.
Is this a temporary break? Does your Dr. intend to start meds back up again when you see him?
They usually say that you should be symptom FREE for 3 months before stopping abx.

I don't think you can know if you are symptom free until you take a break from meds, since meds can themselves make you feel bad. You have to get them out of your system, then see how you feel. Then you will know if you are better or not. Many ppl feel awful on meds, even normal ppl with nothing wrong with them, on all these meds would feel yucky.
Nothing wrong with taking a break as long as you doc is willing to treat some more if you need it. I'm sure your body could use a break. I am about to take a one month break. Have been on meds solid for 7 months.

All I can say is that you have had very aggressive treatment -- you listed 9 different antibiotics in 11 months. And if I read it right that includes 6 months on IV Rocephin.
I really can't imagine going through thatin such a short period of time. Hubby has gone much much slower -- but he is not well after 5 years.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be one rule book that works for everyone so I really don't know what to advise. Hubby has taken breaks during his treatment when we were between docs or ran out of money or just didn't know what to do next.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I'm kind of in a similar spot in my treatment.
I was sick for 6 years. I started treatment in October 2007, so about 14 months ago.
Switched up antibiotics every 2 or 3 months during that time, did IV for awhile, usually doing more than one antibiotic at a time.
Excluding fatigue, I've been free of symptoms for 3 months. This month has been my first off of antibiotics - I'm on Valtrex to see if it helps the fatigue.
I had a bit of a rocky start on it, I feel VERY flu-y at the moment, but it actually seems to be helping my fatigue (hallelujah!)
So we'll see, I guess, how the rest of my month goes. Crossing my fingers!

you need to get on antivirals and antifungals vfend preferably but very very expensive. diflucan can work.acyclovir is very cheap and works as well as valtrex of any other new antiviral. it is not prescribed decause it is generic and the drug companies can't give gifts to the docs on generic rx.
need to purge body of all overgrowth of systemic yeast and control viruses, ie herpes, ebv that are in your body but dorminant.
this is crucial to a full recovery, since systemic yeast or fungi has the same symptoms as lyme. you will know in 10 days but should take these meds for 3 months.
