Wow, quite interesting today.
He went over my blood test results.
The Lyme, babesia and bartonella tests (through Quest of course) came back negative, as he expected, so he wants me to do the IgeneX testing now.
However, what surprised him (and me) was that the Ehrlichia test (the one for HGE) came back POSITIVE!!!! From Quest!!!!
My ASO levels were also high, which I thought was odd if I'm on antibiotics.
And my Vitamin D levels are very low--they are at 16, when they should be between 20 and 100.
So the game plan now is to continue the Doxy, and he's adding Rifampin and a Vitamin D supplement (50,000 IUs).
Then he'll see me again in 6 weeks to re-evaluate.

Ehrlichia! Goodness! We never know what is hiding inside of us.
I think it's a good idea to do the testing through Igenex. Even though I know Lyme and cos are a clinical diagnosis I was relieved when my Igenex and Fry testing confirmed it. There was something re-affirming about the positives after all the years of trying to tell doctors I was genuinely sick.
My Vitamin D was 17 and I took the 50,000 IU capsule two times a week for two months. I can't remember what the result was at the end of that series, but I was back in the acceptable range. I think it will work for you too.
Best of luck with your new meds. I have a feeling everything is going to go well for you.
