I have been having serious bladder/urination problems for the past 4 years. I always feel like I have to pee, but usually very little urine comes out or all of it doesn't come out.
I've been going to a urologist and I came up positive for a bladder infection. Usually that is only treated for a week, but since the week didn't help, I have been on the medicine for about 2 months and it doesn't help. I really don't think this is just a bladder infection, anyway.
I got a Cystoscopy in February and she didn't find anything, but thought that my urethra was too narrow, so she widened it. I felt pretty good the day of and after I got it, but I'm back the way I was and have gotten worse.
Now urine is barely passing through at all. I also often have blood in my urine.
The doctors don't really know what to do with me. They are just saying that it's a bladder infection or an over-active bladder, but I know it's something more and that the Lyme is most likely causing it.
If you guys have suggestions, please let me know.

Dear MysteryGirl44, The blood indicates an infection, but maybe antibiotics will add to the trouble. If you have an overgrowth of yeast, it can cause issues with the bladder. E. Coli tends to be the most common cause of bladder infections. Once, I had a really bad one where no urine came out. There was only blood because the morons who catherized me in the hospital did it wrong.
Antibiotics do not set well all of the time, so I tried cranberry juice. It worked! Unsweetened is recommended, but there are pills if you cannot handle that. Blueberry juice is even better for it. Killing the yeast off is more difficult.

I found that I had dueling lyme and yeast in the bladder. I'd treat one, and then the other would take over. Had this for years and years until I figured it out.
Agressive treatment of lyme and also fungal infections made a big difference. Neem actually helped quite a bit with the fungal/yeast issue.

blood in urine can indicate renal (kidney) disease in some occurances. have your dr's done a thourough renal screen? like IVP, renal scan? testing beyond lab work? labs would normally show kidney disease
another possiblity is do you have any back problems? lower back specificlly?? nerves from lower spine control bladder. seems like lyme does cause freq. degeneration to joints, including spine.
maybe can only speak for myself, but i have had issues with bladder very off/on. i know my MRI shows degeneration pretty signif. to lower lumbar and cervical areas. bladder stuff got worse when started abt for lyme so i know there is a connection. to me, feels more cause/ effect.
LLMD have any ideas?

Dear bejoy, I had heard of neem, but only as a natural pesticide. I did not know it could work on yeast. Thank you for the tip! I will be sure to add it to the list of things to try once under the care of an LLMD. Anything is worth exploring.

v, i now know blood in urine also is a sign of bladder cancer! my sister's mother-in-law has this, and told me this last month what her symptoms were.
so it wouldn't hurt to test the kidneys and also the bladder by catscan, etc.
better being safe than sorry. best wishes!

I am not dx'd but also have bladder problems. I feel like I have to go often. But often, not much comes out and sometimes it burns a bit. Been tested over and over for UTI always NEG. I just recently had a 24 hour urine test. My last urinalysis showed very high amounts of sodium in my urine so they are investigating that. But yes, I've heard lyme can cause bladder issues.
