Anyone get relief from fatigue, muscle weakness, and muscle tightness in spine using either of these Abx? I'm kind of getting to the point where I only care if Abx relieve these symptoms. Relieving these, and only these, will ever make me functional again.

I'm trying to be positive, but I'm tired of the 'shotgun' approach of maybe it's Bart. maybe it's Babs, etc. w/zero formal tests, no blood smear, etc. I'm too black & white for this disease I think.

My wife's getting ****ed I don't take full doses of my drugs due to what I perceive as side effects or probably more likely herxing. She thinks it's my fault and that's why I don't get better. BS. She says why bother going back to the LLMD and wasting her vacation days if non-compliant. She's taken one pill since I've been with her for 8+ years.

How could one possibly understand having to take all these lethal drugs on a pipe dream that it may be Bartonella? This disease really sickens me at times.

I tried to get her to read the gazillion handouts my LLMD provided me with specific instructions to have your spouse read them too. No luck yet. All people like to see is a pretty picture stating take your drug two times a day and in 10 days everything will be hunky dorey.

I constantly notice if I get off an Abx for 5-7 days, I feel worse. Good is never there often, just tolerable. what's the point of dowsing yourself in Abx if you relapse constantly?

I'm also a bit frustrated with this constant rotation of drugs every 10 days or every month. I thought Dr. B said you need to be on a drug 4-6 months to determine benefit??

Sorry...just a tad bit irritated. Bart rage perhaps? lol. Disregard my bad day. It's been tough. Some days I just want to pound my fist through a brick wall. At least the ER could figure out what's wrong. [Smile]

I feel the bottom line is I have low CD-57, no immune system, and too many other health issues making treatment unsuccessful. I truly believe if you're going to get well, you'll make nice improvement in 6-8 months of treating like DaveNJ and others.

Hi Seek,

I had my best (and only) improvement for fatigue and muscle weakness on the Rifampin/Bactrim combo. It took a couple of months to really kick in...I was on the full dose. (At this point I had been on other antibiotics for over a year without any progress)

I had better results with this combo than with IV Rocephin.

Unfortunately, I had an allergic reaction to Bactrim so now I am starting Biaxin/Rifampin. The herxing on this was so overwhelming I actually had to stop for a week and am slowly working up to a full dose again.

I hope Rifampin works for you too!

Seek,

You're my friend, I like you a lot. That said, I would give anything to at least see *some* sort of improvement as you have.

YOu are on the right path, stick with it. No one needs to tell you that if you feel WORSE after a week off of antibiotics that it means you are heading in the right direction.

As for your black and white thinking...you have two choices:1. Quit the TBI treatment 2. Keep searching for what else could be plaguing you.

Obviously, this is not an easy road. Some are luckier than others and respond more quickly. Some have great support from their loved ones, some do not.

Healing involves many things. It must be difficult to be in your situation without support. You must feel desperate to get well because of this.

No one gets a free ticket. Unfortunately, you have to pay the band. Do the treatment. Committ to yourself and your little girl, prove your wife wrong.

And you also know that because something worked for someone else, doesn't mean it will work for you and visa-versa......

I know tht you know all of these things. Sometimes it helps to have someone else put things in perspective.

Feelfit
