4 days into Biaxin/Plaquenil again. I told myself no more babying things. I'm hitting full dose immediately and stop this stupid titrating game. I feel like I'm wasting my money at a LLMD doing this self-Rxing of dose.
Well, 4 days into it, feel much better on full dose than my 1/4, 1/2 dosing before. Had three days where I've felt pretty functional. It'll catch me soon, but hell if I keep up this worthless protocol dreaming I've got a chance to win the battle with 25% dosing levels. I've decided Dr. B didn't come up with these dosages for nothing!

Today's serious payback day. Every muscle is locked up in my body. Massive head pressure. Ears feel plugged. Can barely close hands. Back tightening up. Heart feels like occasional skipping, but tough to say. Woke up in the middle of night and in the morning having a hard time catching full breath. It felt like my neck/shoulder was so tight on the left side that I couldn't breathe (air hunger).
WTF is this I have? What could lock all your muscle groups up so fast?
Baclofen is doing NOTHING today to help. Brutal.

Day 4 is classic for a serious herx. Sorry you are feeling so lousy!
Titrating can be a good thing.

I'm glad to know I'm not crazy then. Perhaps, I'll back off to 500 mg Biaxin today. I just don't think I can beat this using 1/4 doses long-term even though my LLMD'z office said some patients do. Especially with my body weight.
Titrating produced similar results to full-dosing, BUT I've never pounded through a herx yet at full-dose. People like TF said they did and won the battle. I'm torn.

It won't take you that long to work your way up to full dose. Be patient. It may only take you a month or two.

By the time I finish the month though Lymetoo, the LLMD has me on 2 different meds. lol. To me, it seems like you never get a 'killing' dose of Bb med using this staggered approach.

He didn't do it that way with me. I stayed on any drugs that were effective. I took Biaxin for 18 months because it was working.

Maybe again I'm misinterpeting the ptotocol. It's clearly laid out what to take, BUT then it says if something helps keep going. Very odd. Does this mean you don't move to the next one, or keep the old and add the new, etc? It really needs to be spelled out with more clarity for an ill patient. I pounded through herxes at full dose. It wasn't easy by any means, but my LLMD was worried about resistance at lower doses.

I spoke to an ID doc today that said the same as you Six. He said it's a dangerous game to play self-adjusting doses like this. Who to believe?

I think skipping a dose when a herx is horrible is much different than taking a lowered dose for a period of time. I would skip doses once in a while (maybe once or twice a month).
But the way my LLMD explained it was that the too low dose makes it so you never build up to the levels of the drug that you need to have in your body, so the bacteria can actually become stronger and more resistant because they can hide from the meds.

Yes, he would, but he won't clinically treat for co-infections not proven like LLMDs prefer to.
