i read in singleton's book that he recommends taking the same herbals as buhner's along with antibiotics -- andrographis, resveratrol and cat's claw.

wouldn't that be overkill for some people? cause it sounds like to me you're doing BOTH protocols and that would be too much.

i think one or the other.

has anyone done both?

Yes, I did both for 3 months when I was first diagnosed: on Doxy and max dose of andrographis, smilax and knotweed + eleuthero and some samento.

I DID find Doxy hard, but perhaps some of that was down to doing both. I remember feeling less awful when I stopped the Doxy and continued on herbs for several months before worse gastro symptoms made me return to a LLMD and restart abx.

I still take several Buhner herbs at lower dose most of the time.

If you are going to try Buhner, I would try the 2 together if you can,as SB himself recommends this,

I did the full protocol plus Stephania root when I was first diagnosed. I did it with one antibiotic at a time and did really well. Actually Christmas 2007 I felt very near normal.

I backslid whilst on doxy March 08. I stopped the herbs Feb 08. I stopped the herbs as I felt I had it sorted and it was very hard to down all of those pills.

I am considering going back to the full protocol soon plus HH. Cowden is crap and I need to have a transition treatment option.

I agree. I didn't like Cowden's herbs either except for burbur. I did a lot of herxing on cumanda, but didn't see much benefit. I did it for 10 months.

Tell me more about Stefania, if you can.

Thanks.
