Has anyone had these tests? I think they tell you if you are able to make antibodies. According to mine, I am not able.
This seems to be a new test and is only experimental. It is only done at this hospital. But it would explain why my antibody tests always come back negative.
We are researching it. If anyone wants to contact me you can PM me and I will try to respond. I am not on line too much these days. But I do check for PM's.

- Interesting. Also to consider, if I can say this as I think I've read it:
The thing about lyme is that it tricks the immune system, disables it by hiding, so that often antibodies are not even "instructed" to be made by the body.
My doctor made no mention, nor did I find any research that says these tests predict a person's ability to make antibodies.
I know the tests as beatingtheodds posted above.
Do you have a reference you can post on the forum?
Thanks

Actually the these tests have been around a few years at least. I have had these tests at least 1 time per year the last 3 years. They show inflammation in the body - according to my LLMd C3A will be high if symptoms are caused by autoimmune disease such as Lupus. C4A inflammation is high from bacterial infections, most w/Ld will have high C4A.

Thanks for all your replies. I'm afraid I did get it wrong. C4A is a test for inflammation, I believe. There were other things in my test results that related to antibody production ability. My husband is looking into it and when we know more we will post what we learn. It is most confusing to me with my terrible brain fog. I am sorry to have mislead you.
BTW Kitty, your mailbox is full. I tried to PM you but could not get it through. Sorry.
