I don't know about the rest of you, but I am getting really tired of reading what seem like the same old stories. It just makes me so mad to read about how many years some of these patients went undiagnosed and untreated and how the medical system fails so many people.

Especially because stopping the disease is statistically favorable if treated soon after exposure.
If you take a look at the thread daughter age 2 102 fever, etc., you will see how reticent MDs are to prescribe antibiotics soon after a known bite. The kid would have an easier time getting them if she had acne.
That picture of Elizabeth sick - that is me! I have the same photos from a few years ago. A few years before that, I too was taking flying lessons.

Im glad you posted this.
If you guys can, read her articles in Pubic Health Alert.
Elizabeth is truly amazing and she has a heart of gold. She wrote "That you May Understand" from the heart for each one of us. It was an honor to write her story.
I truly hope that everyone on here can contribute what you can to help save her life and also spread the word and her story to everyone/anyone you can think of who might be able to help her. She is so weak, she can barely talk. So if you know anyone who can help her, please do it now!
I know everyone on here needs the same help, but we really do have to help each other as a community.

I posted these links on my face book page and sent them to some who has a mass email list for people with Lyme.
The stories were really good, thanks WildCondor and Elizabeth for the awesome stories.
What Elizabeth writes it so true on so many levels to so many different Lyme patients. I think most of us could have written that piece. We all understand what she is going through.
I am definitely not in the position to help her but I really pray she gets the help she needs, she deserves it, we all deserve it.
It isn't fair that this can be treated yet doctors are just stupid. I don't think there is any other way to put it, they are just stupid. Look at the studies, look at the patients, look at the proof, and then tell me we shouldn't be treating Lyme.
I don't wish this illness on anyone but sometimes I just find myself thinking that if some of these hot shots in the ISDA or CDC got sick maybe they would then understand.
