Ok-I've been taking 1 cat's claw 3 x a day for over a week-been wanting to add more but have been scared. Took two this morning. I read in "Healing Lyme" that cat's claw can cause upset stomach-which I've been having but thought it was from the doxy. It says if you keep pushing throug the side effect should diminish. Anyone have experience with this.

I won't go into details-but the worst side effect is the abdominal pain-I mean sometimes it feels like I'm in labor! I'm going to try to push through like I push through the herxes but I don't know how much more I can take.

I keep pushing through because I think it's helping the inflammation-I use to wake up every morning with swollen joints in my fingers so that I couldn't bend them. But I haven't experienced that lately. And I think the cat's claw is why.

I also started the cat's claw a couple days before I got my blood work done-one test was the CD57. The book says it's increases this level. Anyone know by how much- a lot or a little? I don't want my LLMD to say oh your CD57 is good, and doubt my diagnosis, because I'm pretty positive it's Lyme.

TIA (thanks in advance)

Did you start with 3 a day or was this dose raised over a few weeks' time?

And, it could be the doxy but

If you determine it is the Cat's Claw that is causing you to feel as if in labor, stop it. We need to define "pushing through" symptoms. It means patience not necessarily putting yourself through torture that further stresses the body.

Low and slow is the guideline. You might stop for a while and then start at a low dose, and increase slowly. See the book for details on how to do that.

It that goes okay, give it time. If it does not go okay, there are other choices for support.

In the meantime, with stomach cramps, are you getting enough magnesium? Taking it with food is easier on the stomach.

And - you've not taken B-vitamins on an empty stomach, have you? That will cause all sorts of stomach pain.

Hope you feel better.

Oh, by the way, in case you use that "TIA" to sign off on text messages, depending on to whom those would go, you might want to know that it's also a medical term for stroke. You'd not want to worry anyone - especially if you ever text your doctor a question and sign off with that. Communication can be very tricky.

LOL about the TIA, didn't know that. Communication is tricky. Thank God I only text people who have no idea what it means medically.

Ok about the mag-I will start taking it with food-didn't know that.

But this started when I started taking the cat's claw, like the same day. I'm going to try to stop the cat's claw today-I was up to 2 3 X a day. But we'll see what happens. If the symptom goes away then I'll know and I will try to re-introduce in a bit even slower then before. I introduced it slowly but maybe not slow enough.

Thank you for the input, I appreciate it!
