On day 10 of doxy, plus taking azith. I had joint pain before and now have joints acting up that never did before. I also get this stabbing/shooting pain in the side of my head at times. I guess this is all part of the herx process. Anyone else have/had this with doxy? Guess it really does cross the blood/brain barrier.

Yes, I had that too. My elbows continue to hurt after 10 weeks treatment. Hopefully will clear up soon.

Zith did nothing for me so I do not understand what protocol you are on unless your MD thinks it is chronic strep?

Its different. I did zith with zith only. And Flagyl by itself also.
Not sure on the reasoning so I can't say either way...
Do you know what all you have? Is strep chronic?

I had the weird pains in the head too... still do from time to time. I'm on Flagyl right now. I'm brand new to treatment. I think the reason I'm not on doxy (which seems common place for newbies to be put on first) is because I was already having major reactions to the sun without being on an antibiotic.
