Taking Plaquenil/Doxy/Biaxin and over the last 4 months joint pain is much better but now I have nerve pain especially in fingers and toes. I also notice that my muscles are a little weaker than they used to be. Does anyone have any idea why this would be? I have not been diagnosed or treated for co-infections yet and I was thinking that maybe one of them has reared it's ugly head. Don't know. Thank you.

Hello Cattail, yes, I have had this too. It is the only lingering symptom I have left. I'm glad to hear your joint pain has alleviated. That's a plus. Here is what I'm struggling with:

Severe "tendonitis" which began in the elbows & slowly spread daily, getting worse. Turned into muscle ache/weakness, such as yours. Now my wrists, fingers very stiff & achy.

This whole symptom gives the overall feeling of having weak muscles. Like your pushing it to the full extent only it's sluggish. My hands are doing it as I type.

I don't know why this is. I asked my LLPA about it & he said, "I don't know, but you definitely have tendonitis...get a brace". So whether it's still Lyme bugs in your body settling in your muscles, I have no idea.

Try strength training. I go to Curves 3 times per week. It is moderate resistance training that has helped me a lot. I continued going, even when I was herxing. Keep moving! Try not to be overly preoccupied about it. I know it'a hard, but it can rob you of your recovery.

Don't give up!
