"Parasitic infections set in when the body is alkaline."
I've been coming across this in my studies lately. Just when most of the thoughts are towards a more alkaline body terrain.

I test as alkaline. I have to take HCl when I eat. I did have a parasite problem. This makes sense based on my experience.

Unlike most pathogenic bacteria and viruses which don't do at all well in highly oxygenated environment. Parasites do extremely well and probably best when more oxygen not less. However, an alkaline environment is good to attain, but when you attain it as Sparkle mentioned -- expect to do 2 or more cleanses a year. And create a maintenance plan. I tend to add black walnut tincture to my water as a normal course and cloves in some manner at every morning -- mostly in oatmeal.
A good source for ground cloves is mountainrose herbs where you can buy it in bulk.
Six like you every now and then I take some HCL too. I'm a bit on the alkaline side.

I muscle test for whether I need HCl every time I eat. I do need less as time goes on, but I still need it every meal. I also need less when I follow food combining rules, which I find very interesting.
I, too, do regular parasite cleanses. I do Humaworm and Dr. Natura each once per year. They no longer make me feel bad when I do them, maybe a tiny bit fatigued for two days, but not enough to slow me down.

Very interesting... There really is no one size fits all diet.
Hydrochloric Acid is in Parastroy. I think it helps dissolve the parasites (I think Gael mentioned it). I don't think I did the parasite cleanses long enough in the past. I like the Parastroy - you take it for 6 months & you take a month off & repeat if needed.

Sparkle,
Good article and thanks for posting. I have always suspected this for some reason. I read in an article somewhere on the internet that is is suggested that Aids patients keep their G. I. track acidic because it kills the virus.
I used to take a lot of HCL but don't need it as much since it's in the Parastroy as Sparkle mentioned.

Here you go, mattnapa -
Other Dietary Considerations
Avoiding raw or undercooked beef, pork, fish and chicken is an obvious step in prevention. Water chestnuts, watercress, unwashed fruits and vegetables, and mountain water are also to be avoided. Parasites love sugar and carbohydrates as well as other easily assimilated foods. It is best to eliminate sweets, alcohol and potato chips while cleansing.
Pumpkin seeds, garlic, calmyrna figs, pomegranates, cranberry juice, and apple cider vinegar are good foods to include in your diet to control parasites. Parasitic infections set in when the body is alkaline. Keeping the intestines slightly acidic may help prevent and treat an infection. Cranberry juice or diluted apple cider vinegar (2 tablespoons to eight ounces of water) works well for this.
The subject of parasites can be unpleasant, yet it is more common than most people are aware of. Becoming proactive about parasite maintenance can make a big difference in overall health. Doing a preventative program can ease your worries about uninvited guests.

Sparkle 7 Thanks. It is my understanding that foods and substances that are acidic in the stomach and digestive system are not corelated to the systemic Ph of the body. Lemon for instance is acidic in the stomach, but is alkalinizing to the systemic PH. So while it might be true that parasites are destroyed or deactivated in stomach acid with greater acidic conditions, it may also be tru that their activites in the rest of the body are reduced by more alkaline systemic conditions

Interesting thoughts, matt. I'll have to think about it.
I read that the body balances itself - so ingesting acid or alkaline foods don't really do much to alter the overall homeostastis (I'm not sure if that's the correct term).
I'll have to look into it further later to site references.

Interesting, Bob. It would probably be a good idea to know what one's acid/base balance was before assuming that it is not alkaline enough (which is what has been discussed alot).
Drugs can also alter the balance. There are also those who feel that baking soda can cure cancer. This is very interesting but most of us are dealing with an issue of parasites, Lyme, viruses, toxins. We may have different bio-chemical needs than a cancer patient - or someone with diabetes, heart disease, etc.
or google - homeostasis, acid base balance

Cancer also spreads when the blood is alkaline. The blood is not a good indicator of tissue pH.

When I first heard about all of this - my PhD - doctor told me to test my urine with Ph strips... I think people may be barking up the wrong tree with all of this.
The body is quite complex. Drinking water with baking soda can diminish stomach acids. Some do suggest to drink water with baking soda... It may be a good thing to do for a short term incident - but it's probably not a good thing to do long term.
Especially, if some people may have various health concerns.

To be clear I am not especially expert on alkalinizing nor do I have much of an attachment to the concept. I have not been able to find any studies on the subject and I believe the claims that cancer struggles within alkalinized tissue is that there is a corelation with higher PH more alkaline and higher levels of oxygen. My understanding is that PH blood levels remain relatively unchanged on alkaline diets, but that saliva and urine levels show noticeable change.
So Dan I am curious if you are saying cancer does spread in more alkaline blood but not as much as more acidic blood or whether they are the same. I would be interested in any links you have on the subject. Though i admitt I have nothing definitive which shows more alklinized blood or tissues as being more resistant to cancer, but it does seem to be purported by many. Russel Jaffe is a fairly reputable source who claims that alkalinizing is a signifcant benefit against cancer and other health issues. However I can find very little info that he has posted on it

I know there is a cancer "cure" where you drink water with baking soda & maple syrup. I heard it worked for someone I was corresponding with.
There's a doctor who injects the baking sodda into the tumors. He feels that cancer is caused by yeast.
Everyone is different, though. We are dealing with something different here - for the most part. I don't know if a general low acid or alkaline diet is good for everyone.
