If you decide to - I would follow Buhner's recommendation and use the whole herb (Japanese Knotweed)

Ive used resveratrol isolated and got nothing out of it.

I used Japanese Knotweed and had great success.

I worked up to the full dose of Buhner Protocol, got to full protocol for about 6 weeks. Had a couple of really bad days about two weeks ago and backed off to half.

My first LLMD visit is on Monday so I would like to stay on at least 1/2 of the Buhner Protocol while on ABX. I work full time so we will see if I can tolerate both protocols.

I got the knotweed through 1stChineseHerbse.com.

According to several on this site they have been helped by the Buhner Protocol. However he does say in his book that abx is needed for Lyme. He also says the abx does no work for everyone and so several on this site are on herbs and numerous other therapies.

All the Best, MattH

I have been doing the whole Buhner protocol and abx for 9 months. Something is working because I am getting better.

Canefan, which brand of knotweed do you use? I think Buhner recommends source naturals resveritrol. I'm on source naturals, but I don't know if it's helping me or not.

I've been taking source naturals reversitrol also,
for a couple of months and does not seem to be helping at all. I'm on third bottle and likely won't buy any more.

Maybe quitting too soon, but I don't see it helping.

I used Country Life brand, Resveratrol Plus, which is concentrated resveratrol with some whole herb together, as well as a couple other herbal sources or resveratrol. It was very good for me in the beginning of my treatment, though I do not use it anymore. I tested much stronger for this, compared to the whole herb only from Paradise Herbs (even though other Paradise Herbs products have been very good for me).

Japanese Knotweed proved too strong for me in 2008. Put me in the hospital unable to swallow/eat/drink and severely dehydrated from the strong herxing. I still have not regained the ability to swallow well enough to get rid of my feeding tube and it is 3 years later.

So be careful and go slowly if you do try Buhner's protocol.
